On handpull at the Beer Spot. Pours amber. Walnut, orange, raspberry, cherry, biscuit, hedgerow earthiness, toffee, touch of walnut bread. Good soft body. Very nice.

Taster at Belaire Tavern, Nelson. No obvious aroma. Light brown beer with small white head. Low carbonation. Malty, smoky, bitter. All very restrained. There’s a touch of pepper and sourness in the finish.

Bottle. Cloudy dull amber with a coat of off-white head. Fruity aroma with apples, pears, oranges and a little toffee. Lovely soft mouthfeel. Taste is strongly malty with sweet - and slightly buttery - toffee and fruit before a decent whack of slightly spicy bitterness. The finish doesn’t emerge seamlessly - there’s a bit of a lurch. [3.2]New look bottle, 5.3% ABV. Pours bright this time. Aroma is fruity but subdued (-1), taste is a little cleaner and less butterscotchy (+1). Firm bitterness. No great magic to it, but a pretty solid strongish bitter.

Copper color. Earthy, malty. Decent backbone with some soft hops. Nice, but not setting the world on fire.
