Inspired by the red-brown sour beers of Flanders, we added some different caramelized malts to our grain bill, in order to make a more vinous and dry version of those classical styles. Barrel aged for fifteen months in Pinot Noir barrels from Burgundy.
Bottled in May 2019.

Pours fairly dark brown with a reddish glow. Medium small, relatively low stability soapy head. Scent is OB-like 'fleshyness' , loads of wood, balsamic. Taste is sharp, dry, loads of wood, bit of balsamic (aroma, not acetic acid) , medium acidity (balanced) . Bit of that 'fleshyness' umami like quality. Very typical Oud Bruin beer, made in a very different part of the country than usual. As always with antidoot, great quality. perhaps not the most unique or specific (which is out of the ordinairy for them) but a solid offering for sure

SLOW GUSHER ALERT!
Clear dark brown beer, small creamy beige head, a little stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: lots of dark caramel, dusty, wood notes, malty, a bit earthy, vanilla, cookie dough. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: soft acidity up front, green apples, dry, dusty, a hint of vinegar, refreshing. Aftertaste: fruity, red berries, caramel, earthy, funky, a bit cheesy, pretty sourish, strawberries, green apples, a bit oxidized, earthy, spicy finish.

750 ml bottle, 2021 vintage. Dark red-brown body, with a big, creamy, lacing, beige head. Aroma of wine barrel, flowers, dark berries. Tastes similar. Medium, slick mouthfeel, with a moderate carboantion. Finishes vinous, floral, fruity. Not very complex, but very well balanced between vinous, floral and fruity notes. Characterful and quite unique, like most Antidoot stuff. Score: 8 / 4 / 8 / 4 / 15

Wine barrel aged 'oud bruin' by the Antidoot brothers, bottle shared in good company at Gebrande Winning, which holds an entire collection of Antidoots, along with other much-coveted breweries and blenderies. Ring of loose, off-white bubbles, dissolving rather quickly; hazy deep caramel-bronze robe with ruddy glow. Aroma of old and oxidized sweet sherry, cherry vinegar, blackberry juice, old red wine, dry tree leaves, hard caramel, oak wood, medlar, passionfruit, halfripe red plum. Crisp, tart onset, very fruity, redcurrant, red plum, blackberry, sour grapes and some passionfruit in the background, sharpishly acidic at first but softening further on; medium effervescence, rounded yoghurty lactic tartness penetrating a slick caramelly, beech-nutty and lightly brown-bready maltiness, remaining supple and elegant throughout. Strong tannic woodiness (and some retronasal 'vanilla') from the middle onwards, at the same time unfolding the wine factor, in a red wine vinegar- or old oxidized Burgundy wine-like way - though not as acetic, but instead adding fruitiness and juiciness. Wine leaves, damp earth, forest floor and moss are background elements further deepening the complexity of this beer - but as said, the whole remains totally elegant and almost 'light-footed', with the right amount of acids when looking at 'historical' oud bruin (i.e. from before Rodenbach, Liefmans and Verhaeghe started sweetening their own classic examples, many a decade ago). Definitely worth the price tag, this is a top notch Antidoot for me.

Hapu, kuiv, marjane, karamell, puidune, keskmiselt happeline. Ok, ootasin enamat, lõpp on veits vesine.

Flaska från Antidoot. Tjusigt mörk kopparrödbrun med riktigt tjusig khakifärgsd skumpuck. Behaglig doft. Port känns definitivt av. Lite russin, kola, övermogna körsbär, toffee. Något djupare syra, drar något i käkarna. Mycket körsbärskärnor, citrus, blodapelsin. Glider ganska snyggt över i väldigt mycket fat och ekighet utan att bli för mycket. Fin beska i avslutningen. Efter en stund i glaset kommer både mer doft och smak fram, inte minst en tjusig bärighet. Överlag mer ”brun” än ”röd” i smaken.

Hapukas, marjane, tanniinine, kuiv, puuviljane, happeline ei ole, vaadine. Väga hea, aga versioonid on põnevamad.
