Split cost and contents with Kraddel. Procured @ De Hopduvel. 500 ml. Black, little mocha bubbles. Smell is nicely sweet and rich, brown sugar, mocha, chocolate milk, what I think is the Koppi coffee, really good, unique sweetness, caramel, chocolate chip cookies, great stuff. Taste is thick cacao, touch bitter upfront, very sweet coffee, really lingers in the aftertaste, same unique coffee, great stuff, chocolate, chocolate milk, chocolate, caramel, brown sugar & chocolate milk sweet. Perfect carb. & really eassy to drink. I have come to expect all of these Mikkeller Koppi beers to be stellar and this is no exception.

Bottle thanks to a trade! Pours black with a yellowish brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of roasted malts with some bitter coffee, light smoke and just a hint of bitter chocolate. Flavor is more smooth with dark grains, bitter roasted malts and a bit of coffee bite coming through.

50 cl bottle @ olio
Aroma is quite light with some fruity tones, some dark chocolate and coffee. Flavour has vanilla, some coffee, salty licorice and distant ashy tones. A bit too salty but nice anyway. I like the vanilla here.

Keg at Olbaren. It pours near black, with a medium tan head. The nose is earthy, dirt, coffee, pine, dark fruit and dark chocolate. The taste is rich roast, earthy, coffee, dirt, light spice, dark chocolate, pine, resin and some bitterness with a dry, roasty finish. Full body, moderate carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Rich, indulgent and surprisngly drinkable. Nice one.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilbur’s Fort Collins. Shelfie. Pours a brownish black appearance with a dark brown head. A lot of oatmeal and chocolate in the nose along with a bit of smoke, lots of roast and earth, and a fair amount of coffee. A bit goopy and a bit too sweet but overall, the coffee seems to offer enough bitterness to balance the sweetness of the malts. Lots of roast, smoke, ash, and chocolate. Some nice herbal / floral / potpourri notes in there as well. Good beer.

500ml bottle from Bierkompass
Pours pitch black with a tiny brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, salty licorice, coffee, espresso, cocoa, vanilla and hints of sweet syrupy rye notes. Taste is heavy, roasty, sweetish and warming with notes of licorice, rye, loads of coffee, espresso, cocoa and hints of syrup. Finish is slick, roasty, sweetish and salty with loads of coffee and warming malty notes. Quite heavy and roasty coffee imperial stout. Nice one.
