Kopi Luwak is one of the World's most expensive and rare coffee varieties. The beans are specifically selected for their ripeness and quality by the civet, a small jungle marsupial that feeds off the fruit of the coffee cherry. They are then gathered by humans from the jungle floors of Indonesia, thoroughly cleaned, and sun-dried. A precise roasting by San Diego's Ryan Bros. coffee leads to an extremely aromatic and exceptionally smooth final product that complements this imperial stout amazingly well. Bottle at home, from an IP trade with Andy from CA, 25/09/13. Borefts warm up rating on my own. Pours mid black with a billowing tan head that stays for a chat then reduces to a covering of frothed up bubbleness. Nose is dark roast malt, earthy tones, light cocoa powder, treacle toffee, roast coffee, milk chocoloate ice crea,. Taste comprises dark roast malts, cocoa powder, rich coffee notes, peppery, molasses, Full bodied, fine carbonation Top draw impy stout

750ml bottle from Alesmith. Nose is marsupially pooped coffee, chocolate, roast, and a hint of vanilla. Black with a big, heavy lacing cinnamon tan head. Flavor is chocolate, expresso, white pepperiness, light bitterness, and light sweetness.

Bottle @ The Lost Tasting Of Abbey Beers, late edition, Odense 2013. Black with a lasting tan head. Lots of coffee beans in the aroma, from putting your nose in a bag of espresso beans (good) to ashy, cold coffee (bad), along with dark chocolate, Sweetish, roasted flavour with licorice, coffee, and charcoal. Somewhat boozy alcohol

750mL bottle, pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma of deep complex coffee notes - amazingly complex and deep - along with a little roast, but the weasel poop shines. Flavour brings out amazingly complex coffee notes - holy shit - never knew a rare, complex coffee could amplify the regular Speedway Stout so much! Other than complex coffee, there are subdued notes roasted malt, and some unsweetened cocoa. Amazingly complex as highly drinkable. The best rendition of Speedway Stout I've had. Incredible.

since i drankt my previous what, 30? most wanted beers, this was a most wanted for quite some time ! since i didnt get mine, cause the post ’lost’ may package ( no refund at all, just ... ARGH still pisses me off) lucky for me, bobochamps has fixed a bottle, and shared it with me . epic ! pours next to black, very small , thin layer of brown foam, wich fades in a ring almost imidiatly . smell has nice details of coffee, withoud being straight-forward cofee infused. gentle ! MY GOHD so ... soooo good ! its been a while since i last had the regular, but from what i remember, it was one of the ( the ?) best non-ba, non-infused, non-mixed etc imperial stout i had. this is even better. very gentle coffee, chocolate ( a bit less than the regular, to me ) very soft carbo, bitterness, sweet, roasted malts (not overpowering) very smooth ! buttery.. complex waawtch.. again, another beer that shocks me . i’m living an exeptional life, the last months ... this is another chapter in the book of best beers ever. thanx ignace !

Bottle - thanks Stawn! Pous opaque black with a small brown head that leaves nice lacing. Aroma is surprisingly not strong, notes of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate. Flavor is about the same, obviously coffee infused, but not strong or really noticeable as special. Lots of roasty chocolatey notes as well. Light sweet, light bitter. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. Nice enough, but not really even up to the level of a regular speedway IMO.

Chilled 75 cl brown bottle poured into a snifter at JStax tasting. Pours black with light brown head. Aroma is coffee and taste complex coffee. Side by side with regular, I prefer regular Speedway Stout.

Bottle consumed at THE stouts tasting part 2, acquired via trade. It pours very dark brown with a thick tan head. The nose is rather rich, very earthy, roasted malt, rich coffee, peppery, wood, touch of smoke, toffee and cocoa. The taste is rich-roast, aniseed, liquorice, rich coffee, light acidity, bitter chocolate, some sweet toffee, ash, toast, burnt aspect, pepper and baking cocoa with a bitter, roasty finish. Full body and moderate carbonation. Tastes more bitter than regular speedway to me. Interesting and pretty tasty, but I definitely prefer the regular version! I have drank a full bottle of Speedway to myself, but this would be more of a challenge.
