On tap at Ølfestivalen, Nærbø. A dark brown beer topped by a dense, beige head of moderate size. Roasted, almost burnt aroma pushing all resemlance to a saison to far away dark corner. There’s a faint touch of the yeast in the flavor, adding some kind of fruityness, but for all I know that might be caused by the use of hops. At least there’s a nice bitterness. It’s dry, full-bodied and saison-ish carbonated, with a mostly roasted malt finish. A very fine beer indeed, but Saison? Not in my book. 151017

One-third pint, tap at BrewDog Grünerløkka (BD57). Crocheted lacing, jet black body with a ruby tint. Forest on the nose, hints of liquorice. Roasted malt-fruity flavours followed by a bittersweet tail with notes of yeasty fruitiness. Well balanced and fine bodied. Pleasant to drink (Oslo, 11.12.2015).

Fra kran på Brewdog Grünerløkka 11 Des 15. Svart. Lavt mokkafarget skum som etterlater bikubefiligranser. Lett surølaroma med sviskepreg. Smaken dominert av røyk & bær. Tørr ettersmak. Bra - men en saison?
