Peculier Pub bottle ($5): Pours a super fast diminishing head over a slightly browned amber. Hop and citrus aromas. I knew that this IPA wasn’t going to be great just by the nose. Upon drinking it, my precognitions were sadly confirmed. It wasn’t horrible, but it was just off-balanced. Different flavors were there, but they were all incorrect. Some light hops. A bunch of citrus taste throughout, but not in the right order.

12 ounce bottle from Total Wine, Richmond. Pours a hazy orange color with a medium sized head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel, wort and faint earthy hop notes. Taste is bitter, bitter hops with caramel. The hops are just bitter with no real character. Medium bodied. Not a very good beer.

Aroma: The aroma is quite powerful at first, but dissipates quickly, I got some floral hops, but after a few moments it's mostly just bready malts, kind of a borderline 6/7, but you have to get a good whiff right away before it disappears
Appearance: It pours a hazy, dark caramel color, with a thin white head and some spotty lace
Flavor: The taste is alright, balanced and decent, but not too exciting
Palate: Medium in body with a decent finish and an alright mouthfeel
Overall Impression: This was just a decent beer all the way around. It wasn't the most exciting example of the style, but I will say it is a pretty drinkable brew. Man, that initial whiff was exciting, where did it go? Oh well. It's a decent beer.

bottle - Pours lightly cloudy copper with a one finger white head. It has a fairly mild citrus hop aroma. The flavor is a pretty solid balance of caramel malt and hops bitterness. There’s a touch of floral and citrus in there. There are better IPAs out there, but this one is still a pleasant quaff. Underrated, in my opinion...

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a foamy, off-white head and a clear golden body. Aroma is citrus hoppy with a touch of honey. Taste is bitter with light citrus notes. Light carbonation.

Golden-amber with a slight haze. Earthy , slightly toasty aroma. Toast, caramel, slight orange marmaladey note. Mostly a moderate bitterness. Unexciting rendition.

Nice chunky copper and amber coloured body with highlights of ruby and orange and a nice, albeit rather large-bubbled sized head. Aroma of fresh hops, metal, corn and a decent amount of malt. Medium-bodied; Astringent hops up front with chemicals and too much yeast in the palate. Aftertaste shows more clarity with the bittering hops up front and a light effervescence behind. Overall, a good but fairly one-sided and jaded (by the sharp taste up front) beer. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York on 22-December-2008, sampled at home in Washington on 22-January-2009.

Thanks to decaturstevo for sharing this one. Deep amber in color, this struggles with a thin white head. Floral hop aroma, earthy malts. Slightly bitter overall, bitter finish but the malt base is discernible. Weak. Re-rate. This sample was just better overall. Palate was still a bit thin, but it had better aroma, flavor and a nice head this time.

Pours copper - orange with white head Aroma is mlaty with light notes of caramel and floral hops mixed with the usual grapefruit nose. Taste is much of the same with some pale malts, floral hops, and a bitter hop finish.
