Bottled. Deep ambery brown colour with a mediumsized beige creamy head. Aroma is sweet malts, ripe fruits, some caramel, vanilla, fudgeand mild cocoa as well as some chocolaty notes. Flavour is quite similar, but also has a quite evident alcohol kick to it. Nice chocolaty and ripe fruity aftertaste.

Pours very dark brown, under a slowly rising, grey , stable , and small but thick foam. Smell is roasted malts allover. Bit bitter. Taste is dark malts, hints of sweetness, some bitterness, but not nearly the 85 IBU-feeling. more bitterness and actual hoppyness during the aftertaste. Grainy. Not bad, not bad at all. Yet I do miss seperation between this beer and others. The style description on the bottle in a mouthfull ( US hopped black barley wine ) yet I’d call this a hoppy impy, and expect the same taste from it. Lacks some complexity, that little something extra. No vanilla whatsoever

A decent evening sipper. Not very Barley Wine ish, and a bit to much licorice for me. Especially when a bit cold. More vanilla when it got warmer.
Dark almost black color with a fine tan head. Ok lacing down the sides of the glass. Ok intensity in the aroma. Full body and a soft carbonation. Quite bitter and a very dry ending. Lots of licorice, oranges and roast. More vanilla after a while.

Utóíze a korty folytatása, enyhe keserűvel. Hatalmas test, mégsem nehéz, kifejezetten itatja magát.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at Krishna Vino. Pours rich black with a dense, frothy khaki head. Well roasted malts in the aroma, some burnt wholegrain toast, cocoa, dried berries. Medium to heavy sweet flavour with notes of smores, milk chocolate, burnt vanilla pods, scorched earth, alcohol, orange peel, baking cocoa. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Finishes with moderate alcohol warmth, some oily yet burnt pine, more bittersweet baking cocoa, mild creamy vanilla, leathery berries, more scorched earth, some woody dryness. There’s no doubt a lot going on here. For the most part, it hangs together well and makes for a pretty drinkable booster. Solid.

Longlasting bitterness, slightly dry and harsh mouthfeel. Fair enough.

Bottle, 330 ml from Svijet Piva. Shared with JFK10000. Nice hoppy aroma. Pours dark brown with medium white head. Sweetish, bit boozy, bitter finish. Some oak, licorice, caramel malts, dry fruit. Wish alcohol was more hidden, but still quite good.
