Botella 33 cl tomada en el momento en el kraken 10..01..2016. (r179). Lote 360 ECAA hasta 08..07..2020. Color muy oscuro con espuma beige. Una barley wine más ahumada y con toques quemados que se acerca a las stout. Cuerpo medio a intenso con 10 vol que se notan en todo momento. Bastante buena. Para repetir sin duda.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Brown-black with a middling tan head. Sweet vanilla is obvious from the off with plenty of oak and chocolate too. There’s a growing roastiness too, and the alcohol occasionally shows before a big kick of rough, bitter piney hops in the finish. Think of an alcoholic coke float in a pine forest and you’ve got this beer. The pine doesn’t really go well with the vanilla which is a shame- it’s a very nice beer, but a better choice of hops could have made it great.

330ml bottle from Brewdog.com. Pours pitch black, nice tan head. Nice deep, luxurious barley wine, toning down the booze in favour of chocolate, malt & berry fruit. Very good this.

Pours a deep black color, topped with a medium sized and quite lasting beige head. Initially nice citrusy nose when opening the bottle. Later on malty, chocolate, vanilla with some alcohol feel, chocolate getting more and more noticeable. Taste sweet, malty with some chocolate feel and fine vanilla. Slight warm of alcohol in the end though doesn’t feel 10%. A bit of bitterness. Quite full body, sticky texture a bit.
