Sumatra IPA is gebrouwen in samenwerking met Brandmeester’s. Samen hebben we een IPA ontwikkeld waar we Sumatra-koffiebonen aan toe hebben gevoegd. Hierdoor ontstaat een spannende mix van fruitige Amerikaanse hop en fruitig gebrande tonen van de Sumatra Lintong. In de tijd van lange zeereizen werd het bier door de VOC naar de Oost geëxporteerd en koffie werd geïmporteerd.

flesje uit Zwolle meegenomen, schenkt amber met volle witte kraag. aroma van dominante koffie met daaronder citrus, den, maar ik vind het een beetje té veel koffie voor een IPA. In de smaak ik de koffie ook voornamelijk dominant naast het hopbittere, citrus, den, gras, het is goed en degelijk gebrouwen maar persoonlijk vind ik het helemaal niets, ik heb een paar slokken gehad, de rest ging de gootsteen in.

Golden colour with thin head. Initial bit hit of fresh tobacco and coffee grinds. This is repeated in the flavour together with some tropical fruits. Complex but not overpowering bitterness of hops and burnt coffee.

Bottle @ home. Clear orange golden color, full sized white to off-white head that lasts for a long time. Weird aroma of tea leaves, coffee and hop in a mix. Taste malts, coffee, bay leaves, bitter. Medium body and carbonation. Well brewed!

Draft at Jopen Proeflokaal, Amsterdam. Hazy orange with an off white head. Aroma of massive coffee upfront, huge nice filter coffee, slight fruity hops and a little chocolate. Flavour is above light sweet and over moderate bitter. Light medium bodied with light carbonation.

33cl Bottle from Jopen Proeflokaal Waarderpolder. Hazy golden orange colour, white head. Aroma of ground coffee, filter coffee, hint of green pepper. Flavour is lots of cold coffee, ground coffee, green pepper, hint of citrus, light floral, bitter finish. Light to medium bodied. IPA is completely blown away by the coffee. OK beer though.

On tap at Winterbierfestival Enschede 2016. Clear, golden amber with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish aroma with lots of milk coffee and hints of tropical fruits. Sweetish-malty taste with lots of milk coffee, toffee and hints of tropical fruits, followed by a short, slightly bitter, coffeish finish. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel, flat. Quite nice but too one-sided on coffee.
