De Koninck Winter is a stronger variation on the 'Bolleke'. It contains more dark and roasted malts (more plato's), also giving it a higher percentage of alcohol.

De Koninck’s answer to Palm Dobbel in a sense, a darker (deep copper), fuller, creamier and sweeter version of the famous ’Bolleke’, with the unmistakable De Koninck yeast and hop bitterish finish. Nothing too impressive.

Donker bruin bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is kruidig en hoppig met chokolade, niet zoet. Blijft redelijk lang hangen.

Bottle. It pours a clear amber body under a small, dense, off-white head. Rather sugary aroma, brown sugar and a faint spiced touch. Some alcohol too actually. Caramel and yellow apples. Quite sugary on the palate, medium to full-bodied and with a soft carbonation. Bitterness too, at an appropriate level. Bitter, sweet, caramel finish. Well, sure decent, but sort of unbalanced, and far from a winner. 140426
