De Koninck Winter is a stronger variation on the 'Bolleke'. It contains more dark and roasted malts (more plato's), also giving it a higher percentage of alcohol.

Draft at Beer Run, 12/13/13. Pours a clear dark amber color with a thin creamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of stone fruits, caramel, citrus, mild spice. The taste is tart citrus, stone fruits, caramel. Medium bodied, low carbonation, slight lingering fruitiness.

330ml bottle from Appellation Wines. Pours dark copper, thin white head, doesn’t hang around. Aromas are mostly light brown sugar, faint spice. Was expecting a darker, spicier brew for winter. Taste is light sweet, bit raisiny. It’s OK, but nothing special.

Very regular darkish amber ale. Usual malty and yeasty taste. Not very interesting.

On tap at Cafe Gollem, Amsterdam on 14th March 2013. Reddish amber with thin off-white head. Rich fruity aroma with wood and pungency. Fruity berries and citrus in-mouth, with sweet tangy, fruity finish. The mouthfeel is zingy.

Bottle. It poured with very little head or carbonation. I found it to be a quite wine like amber beer. Slightly malty & bitter, not bad.
