The sunstone - much disputed among scholars. Did the Viking navigators really have such a tool that would help them point out what was east and what was west - even on a less than sunny day? We certainly believe so. Many years later no sunstone was needed when Amager Bryghus was invaded by what very much looked like Viking ancestors of American descent. Hailing from Munster, Indiana, Chris Boggess and Barnaby Struve of Three Floyds Brewing arrived not with a vengeance but with very loud King Diamond on their portable mp3 player. This was not a day for slaughter but for brewing. And brew we did. The mellow and dangerously quaffable Arctic SunStone is proof that even Viking warriors can have a more subtle side to them. All hail to Three Floyds.

Bottled 500ml. -from Pivoteka Zagreb. Dark orange/golden coloured, medium sized off-white head, light grapefruity nose. Moderate malty, grapefruity hoppy, notes of herbs and caramel with some light nutty touch near the end. Not so fresh unfortunately.

0.5 bottle shared with Višnja666 and Pilot Goran. Cloudy dark golden to amber. Small off-white head. Light herbal hops, but mostly fruits, malts. Not balanced. Medium body, soft carbonation, light finish. Maybe old.

Hazy, orange-yellow colored, medium frothy off white head. Aroma is malty, caramel and biscuit, some citrus and fruity hops but also orange hard candy. Taste is medium sweet malt, caramel, orange hard candy, some citrus, floral and fruity hops, medium bitterness, dryish finish. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. Feels like it died a bit somewhere between Denmark and Croatia...

Bottle, thanks kajser! Murky ochre body, white head. Huh, heavy oxidation on the aroma, malty, nutty even touches, vague apricot. Eh. Dry, light taste, apricot, soft herbal touches. This actually makes me sad. 3 months old or so, imported what, 2 months after it should have been? Still lost more than expected. This isn't a fair rating and I hope to rerate if I ever get to.

Rocky beige head left a cover on a hazy dark copper coloured, lightly effervescent body. Well balanced malt & hops aroma with over ripe stewed fruit. Medium bodied, minimal carbonation & cloying. Much as the aroma with over ripe fruit, sweet malty tastes, floral notes & a fruity finish.

Tap at De Koffer. Murky dark golden with off white head. Papaya, some mango, caramel malts, orange. Basically lots of nice fruits with decent malt base. Light yeast and chalk. Just medium sweet and medium bitter. Medium bodied. Quite good.

Bottle from Beer Gonzo. Murky amber body with a huge off-white head that holds. Lively carbonation. Aroma of peach, bread and pine. Flavour of grapefruit, peach and yeast. Medium body with a frothy mouthfeel. Very fizzy. A soft, uncomplicated APA. Nice.

Bottle from Beer Gonzo, Online Store, Earlsdon, Coventry, consumed at home whilst cooking Wild Mushroom Pilau and Dhaniya Keema, Friday 6th January 2017 Large frothy big bubbly white head, hazy light amber in colour. In many respects this shared similar characteristics to the Sierra Nevada Hop Hunter, though perhaps this is a little bit soapy hops. Middling bitterness, not much sweetness (not a bad thing). Soft carbonation, a little watery lemonade soda thing going on. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3
