(Bottle) Black colour with brief, foamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of fresh coffee, black rye bread, cacao, liquorice, atouch of black pepper and ashes. Malty, roasted taste with black coffee, espresso, dark chocolate, liquorice, black rye bread and a generous coffee bitterness in the finish. Full body, quite dry. Lots of fresh coffee, smooth mothfeel, great balance. Lovely beer! (But I can agree with stopping the production of it.)

Bottled sept. 13th, 2013. Aged surprisingly well, still tons of coffee remaining, and no cardboard at all. Little bit dusty, but that's allowed. Smooth body, some dark chocolate, bit of mud, and so much heavy coffee. Thanks Martijn!

Draught @ Borefts 2013. Deep dark brown color. Dominating coffee aroma. Malty sweet, salty flavor with licorice and dominating coffee. Fresh grinded coffee aftertaste. Not very refined, but o so delicious.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with average to huge, thick, firm, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, off-white to beige head. Roasty, chocolately dark malty and slightly spicy aroma, notes of dark chocolate, some liquorice, a touch of marmite, hints of coffee with a fruity touch of cherry and prune, cocoa overtones. Taste is sweet and roasty, chocolately dark malty, slighy spicy and fruity, notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, soem marmite, fruity hints of cherry and plum; lingering, sweet-ish chocolately and fruity finish. Oily texture, smooth and soft, minimally sticky palate. An Impy Stout with the high quality De Molen became famous for in the good old times...

Bottle at home from De Bierkonig, bottled, September 2013, drunk on 27th December 17. Pours black with a lovely dense tan head, like a quality coffee. Aroma is liquorice, caramel, coffee. Taste is coffee, liquorice, coffee bean, some sweetness, then a bitter sweet finish. Lovely coffee chocolate mocha milk shake of an impy, delicious.

Bottle shared at home courtesy of Maakun, thanks! Black with almost no head. Big roasted cat poop, side dish of anal gland. Deep roasted malts, moldy truffles with coffee rising above. Very deep leathery, earthy, licorice, poopy tones. Poop sex. Feline rimming. Mocha, charcoal, marzipan. Moderate sweet and bitter. Creamy nutty coffee beans. About full body and low carbonation. All this nasty talk makes my cheeks glow. --- Beer merged from original tick of Hel & Verdoemenis Kopi Loewak on 06 Sep 2017 at 21:56 - Score: 7. Original review text: 🙏 Maakun!! Black, no head. Bottle shared, thanks to Bierkoning for the trade. Green leaves, cardboard, lots of molasses, licorice, coffee, some roast and ash, dry earthy leaves, caramel. Very dusty and old. Medium sweet and a long lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with dry finish. Probably waaaay past it's prime, don't like this very much. There doesn't seem to be a lot of H&V left, just old weird coffee and licorice.

Bottle at CBC CB. It pours jet black with a decent beige head. The nose is rich roast, dirt, stinky espresso coffee, earth and bounty bar. The taste is smooth, rich roast, charred wood, dirty coffee, vanilla, pepper, mild acidity, earth and dirt with an earthy finish. Medium + body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Decent.

Bottle shared in London - big thanks to Matteo for this geriatric! Pours deep black-brown with a big, frothy khaki head. The nose holds burnt malts, damp earth, moderate coffee. Medium to big sweet flavor with some alcohol boost, sugary chocolate, more earth, mocha. Full bodied with lively carbonation. Quite warm on the finish, some baking cocoa, roast, scorched earth, raisins. Good stuff.
