Hops, hops, hops. The Kompaan 58 Handlanger has skipped the process of a normal IPA and has hopped over to adulthood. Backwards engineering! Lots of hops: Simcoe, Amarillo and El Dorado and three kinds of malts. A full flavored double IPA of 8.2%, but beware!
This beer is strong, but doesn’t taste as quite as dangerous--just like a night on the town with your “handlangers” (accomplices). Citrusy notes in smell and taste in combination with a tropical fruit palate and a bittersweet aftertaste.

Stark karbonisierter, intensiv grasig hopfiger Antrunk. Süßlich, vollmundig, ab dem Mittelteil zunehmend herber. Zitrus, Mango, weiterhin sehr hopfig. Zum Ende süßlich dunkelmalzig, was sich im Nachgeschmack zusammen mit der Hopfigkeit zum Hauptaroma entwickelt. 11/12/9/11/9/12

(Bottle, Café de la Gare, Den Haag, 21 Aug 2014) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, malty nose with citrus, caramel, orange peel, grapefruit and dried apricots. Malty, fruity taste with notes of citrus, grapefruit, resin, caramel and a generous citric bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Well balanced with a solid malt backbone and an impressive hop presence. Very nice.

[9/28/14] Draught sample at Borefts After Festival 2014 in Rotterdam. Deep golden. Aroma of biscuit malt and leafy hops. Sweetish flavor with biscuit malt, “green” and piney hops and moderate bitterness. Medium-bodied.

Sampled draft @ BAF 2014. Thank you! Orange, little head. Lots of orange, mandarin, fruity hoppy. Taste strongly bitter oily pine & more herbal hops, bit one-dimensional & too herbal bitter. Grass. Decent but not top.
