A dark and interesting ale, combining fruity hoppiness with a dark, malty side. Is it a porter or maybe a mild? You decide?

Cask, half-pint at Organ Grinder in Nottingham. Solid lacing from a stable fawn-coloured head. Red-brown coloured body. Smell of chocolate and mild caramel. Slightly roasted flavours of black and brown malts. Hints of malty bitterness towards the ending. Quite alright (shared with Finn 20.02.2016).

Fra fat på Organ Grinder i Nottingham 20 Feb 16. Delt med Rune. Ultramørk amber. Lavt litt tett skum med farge. Tett teppelacing. Spor av bær i aromaen. Smaken er plommer. Litt kjedelig.

(Cask at Craft Beer Co Islington, London, 25 Nov 2015) Dark reddish brown colour with dense, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with red fruit, caramel and chocolate. Malty, fruity taste with notes of caramel, red fruit, orange peel and a balanced citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Nice one.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - dark brown with some red chinks around the glass. Nose - toffee, nuts and alcohol with marzipan. Kinda battenburg cake. Taste - sweet toffee, coffee and honey. Bitter amaretto biscuit. Palate - medium to full bodied with a rich sweet yet dry texture and a balanced dry malty finish. Overall - very complex given the 4.2%. But is it good. Yes quite!

Cask at CBC Islington, 07/02/14. Dark amber with reddish hues. Nose is biscuit malt, caramel, orange peel, candied sugars. Taste comprises biscuit crumble, earthy twang, bitter fruit strains, caramel, orange peel. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi dry closure.
