22 ounce bottle. Pours a transluscent dark brown witha large fluffy tan head. Sweet brown sugar malt aroma redolent of currants and dried figs. Mildly bittersweet roasted malt flavor combines nicely with herbal hops to produce a nice Brown Ale very much in the style of Northern England. Good balance with a touch of tanginess in the palate. Overall, a very nice effort.

22oz bottle from Crossroads Beer & Wine, Burlington, MA. Pours a dark chestnut brown with a tight cream coloured head; the aroma is sweet and earthy with some Demerara sugar; it’s soft in the mouth with rich caramel malts, follwed by a light earthy bitterness and then some banana, accompanied by a slight burning sensation. A pleasant brown ale, with more hops than the traditional English equivalents.

Dark oily pour, boozy aroma of brown sugar. The alcohol is much better hidden than I would have thought from the aroma. Really good.

Dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is nutty, molasses, a bit sweet, and light fruit. Flavor is mostly nutty with late molasses and sweet toasted malts. Creamy body. I love a good brown ale and this is a good brown ale.
