I was not very into this. I think it would have been better without the barrel aging. Tootsie roll, caramel, burned grain. Bourbon in the aroma and flavor. It seems hot on the palate.

Bottle shared by Ryan, thanks! Pours a cloudy deep brown with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has lots of bread and grains with a bit of bourbon underlying. Flavor has an earthy bread note with a bit of toffee and some bourbon backing.

Bottle shared. Pours very dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is floral with malt, dough, oak barrel, bourbon/vanilla, caramel and a little overripe dark fruit. Flavour is light heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

A dark brown ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, nice fruity caramel malt with light bourbon barrel notes and light nutty notes, very nice and smooth, light alcohol warmth, very pleasant. In mouth, a nice fruity chocolate malt with light floral hops, bourbon barrel notes, woody notes, licorice, alcohol warmth, very nice. On tap at Dark Lord Day 2015.
