we tried 4 Brewdog Abstract’s (01, 02, 10, 11) yesterday, the standout was the Abstract 01.This barley wine poured a slightly cloudy brown. Vanilla & westie XII yeast notes in the aroma with a medium to full body. A slightly boozy, maple, vanilla, sweet caramel & molasses beer with a touch of nuttyness. This was a fantastic barleywine.

Bottle from and shared with Gurthnar, big thank you Peter. Amber color with small beige head. Fruity aroma with honey, caramel, notes of vanilla, earthy hops, Belgian yeast. Taste, sweet malt, Belgian yeast, champagne beer, toasted malt, fruits. Alcohol in gentle fruity finish. Very tasty beer.

Bottle 3174 out of 3200. Problematically purchased through a chain of friends from Switzerland, but it was well worth it. Third one tasted from the Abstrakt line for me and finally a hit. Aroma sweet fruity, honey, caramel, red apples, very light vanilla (I probably would not notice if I did not know it was added). Lightly hazy amber colour. Taste pleasant, very TASTY, nice belgian character, fruity, honey. Silky smooth mouthfeel, easily drinkable. Alcohol hidden very well. Finish is a bit mild compared to taste, but never mind. The aging went well for this one. Nice experience.

Thx. to Gene for this one // 375 ml. bottle, caged with a plastic cork // love the design on these bottles, simple but... these guys really know marketing // bottled 29.01.2010 // bottle nr. 2954/3200 // red malty brown, little in the way of head // smells sweet, candy, candied fruits, caramel, candy sugar, clearly affected somewhat by age // taste has definetly been affected by age, muted, time hasn’t been kindly to AB’s, these should be drank fresh by what I can tell, this feels way older than 2 years, sweet dark fruits, plenty of aged fruits, caramel, sweet malts, plenty of brown and candy sugar, touch vanilla, there is some serious sugar in this, still remnants of hops in the end // light thinned out // if you still have bottles of this, drink them as fast as you can

Bottle sample @ 2nd RBBSG, August 11th 2012. Courtesy of Travlr. Bottle 2954/3200. Another bottle in the sea of pricey gimmick Brewdog beers.

Bottle at Ørsted Ølbar & Cafe, June 2012. Slightly hazy amber with a small head. The aroma was sweet with alcohol, "päronsoda" (a Swedish soft drink), spices, yeast and some white spirit. Very dry and sweet taste. A strange beer that was bland.
