(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 27 Aug 2022) Hazy golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, spicy nose with bread, hay and spices. Malty, fruity taste with notes of bread, spices, hay, clove, wheat, coriander, peaches, a touch of yeast and a mild spicy bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Nice one.

0.33 l bottle via EU Secret Santa 2019, courtesy of ShivanDragon (thanks Edwin!), 7.5% abv, best before August 2020. Almost clear, amber with a thin, frothy, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, gently fruity, slightly herbal and moderately yeasty-spicy taste of vanilla, orange peel, coriander and some honey. Gently sweet, malty, moderately fruity, slightly yeasty-spicy and gently herbal taste of orange peel, vanilla, honey and some coriander, followed by a medium long, gently bitter, quite herbal, dry and slightly yeasty-spicy finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Fairly untypical for a Tripel, quite clean and dry. Not bad in itself but not what I'm looking for in a Tripel.

Frisian tripel named after a local legend, thanks Craftmember for sharing. Eggshell-white, utterly thick and foamy, tightly cobweb-lacing head towering over a misty peach blonde beer with orangey tinge. Aroma of ripe mandarin, peach, soapy coriander, pineapple, bread crumbs, old ginger powder, melon, sweetbread, gin. Fruity onset, peach, ripe pineapple and ripe melon sweetness, quite expressive and pleasant, lively carbonated with a full, rounded mouthfeel; smooth-edged bready, bit biscuit and honeyish malt sweetish body, highlighted with dried orange peel ‘fraîcheur’ and spicy coriander seed soapiness, as well as light phenolic touches; mild floral hop bitter tail with ongoing melon fruitiness, warming but the alcohol otherwise remains very well hidden. Very well-made, accessible but pleasantly fruity tripel.
