The American Wheat Ale is firmer and hoppier than the average wheat ale. It is fresh but smooth too and it has a refreshing, soft bitterness to it. Credit is due to the Mosaic and Galaxy hops there, which also provide the fruity tones of orange and mango. Fruit of the collaboration: beautiful wheat beer with a bite.

A dark yellow, a head is medium and blond. Aroma has tropical mangos and papaiyas, some citrusfruits. Taste has mangos, pine, some citrusfruits, also some sourness, nice bite of grapefruity bitterness in the end. Medium bodied, quite strong carbonation. Quite good and refreshning beer.

Bottle at home. Slightly hazy dark golden with big but short lasting fizzy white head. Bitter citrus peel up front, spruce and dried flowers, some lime. Than a bit chalky and mineral, carbonated mineral water, light dry grains and maybe some wheat in the background. Also some yeast towards the finish. Light sweet and over medium bitter. Medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. Nice stuff, strong in both aromatic and bitter hops and I don’t really get much of the wheat in the taste not the feel. Quite nice ’white’ IPA though.

Hazy gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Nose hoppy nose of pine and a little skunk. Palate is light and mildly crisp. Light malts, mildly sweet. Hops follow the nose and add hop spice and touches of peel and mango. Light semi dry finish. Well joined up but as is usual with these hoppy wheat beers, the wheat character is swamped by the hops.

Bottle picked up at Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham and consumed at home the same day Sunday 26th July 2015 Pours hazy gold with a white rim, buzzy bitter bite, wheaty on nose and in the mouth. Nicely fruity with hops (little grassy) showing well and a wheatiness showing again but also a pronounced bitter edge to it. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.5

33cl Bottle at home. Poors slight hazy copper orange with thin to medium foamy white head. Nose is cool, spicy and fruity. Taste is rich with fruit; orange, grapefruit, sweet melon. Very dry and strong bitter; the amazingly fresh hops taste of weed. Wheaty, grassy. Feel is oily and foamy, also grainy, chalk like. Carbonation is rich but not aggressive, it perfectly suits the flavor. Very very tasty and solid beer! Notable absence of typical IJ yeast flavor.

33 cl bottle @ home. Hazy orange color. Big, off white head, receding to a thin rocky layer, some lacing. Aroma’s: citrus in your face, floral hops, lemon juice. Retronasal it’s bitterish, citrus, floral. Flavor is moderate to full bitter, with a vague maltiness in the background. Light bodied, not too thin. Finish is long lasting firm bitterness. Nice and refreshing.
