On tap at Cycle, pours black with a small brown head. Aroma brings out intense roasted hazelnuts upfront, with subdued bourbon. Flavour is incredibly intense, with intense roasted hazelnuts, accentuated by the bourbon barrels, and light chocolate. Incredible hazelnut depth, with just enough barrel character. Sublime.

22oz bottle pours out black topped with a tan head. Nose is nice big hazelnut chocolate vanilla fudge barrel. Taste is more of the nice nice sweet chocolate hazelnut kick.

Crowler courtesy of Hackobock. Pours black with a rather small frothy mocha head that doesn’t leave much trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty and heavy nutty with roasted malts, caramel, toffee, vanilla fudge, hazelnut paste (nötkräm), dark chocolate, dark roast coffee, dried bilberries, mineral and alcohol. Taste is sweet, heavy bitter, malty, nutty and earthy. Mouthfeel is soft, tiny viscous, round, , tiny astringent, slightly boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, burnt caramel, toffee, dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, caramelized nuts, moist soil, ash and alcohol. Tasty typical Cycle imperial stout with low roast and thick caramel malt base. Very heavy on the hazelnuts, almost a bit harsh with burnt nuts. Tasty stuff but a bit ashy and lacking in richness. --- Beer merged from original tick of Nooner Batch 8 on 16 Jan 2016 at 13:49 - Score: 7. Original review text: Very heavy on the hazelnut paste. Bit ashy with nut skin astringency. Tasty low roast cycle stout but I've had better from this brewer.

Crowler, shared by AdamC, drunk 11/28/15.
Opaque deep mahogany with no head whatsoever.
Hazelnuts and a buttload of syrupy malt. Yes, you can’t sense the sensation syrupy in the nose but if this isn’t syrupy in the mouth, I’ll eat the can. It’s nice and rich and not overdone, though. No alcohol or overdone barrel characteristics (is this barrel aged?).
Sweet, indeed, but maybe not nearly as much as expected. Guess I’m eating the can. Rich, sweet, but with barrel tannin and roasted acidity. Not really chewy, but still thick. Hazelnuts, oily coffee, vanilla and light prune notes. Very low carbonation but it dosen’t seem too loose. Alright, maybe not top 50, but I’m on board; will try more. Lots of booze and peppery phenols lingering. A dessert beer for sure, which is not my thing at all, but can respect the craftsmanship.

Crowler thanks to AdamC. Color oily black with a high level of viscosity. Aroma is a huge level of hazel nuts, thick cocoa.

Flavor has light vanilla, with a metric butt ton of hazel nuts, like hazelnuts out the rear end. Mouthfeel is pretty full, creamy texture. Light putting a shot of hazelnut creamer in a imperial stout. It is sweet as all hell but... It still is pretty well above average. Crazy nuts.

Crowler that I received a month or two ago. Was trying to get a lot of RBers together for this one.

A - Pitch black, the can opened with a good carbonation whisp. Hard to get a significant head on this one.

S - Well, this smells like a hazelnut coffee creamer from a convenience store I mean in a good way. It’s this overwhelming hazelnut aroma. Lots of creamy vanilla and sugar.

T - This has so much hazelnut. It’s loaded and you have this wonderful fudge, coffee cake and a bit of cinnamon. It’s like a christmas cake.

M - Oily, slick, dense. everything you want in a high quality imperial stout.

O - Stupid good. well, if you hate hazelnuts, scroll past but yeah it’s intense.

Bottle shared. Pours near black with a small brown head. Aroma of massive hazelnut, Nutella, toffee, fudge, vanilla and milk chocolate. Flavour is heavy sweet but in no way cloying with a thick and slightly oily mouthfeel. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Beautiful.

Bottle. Pours black tan head. Nose/taste of fresh hazlenuts, fresh hazlenut coffee, sugar cookie, smooth milk chocolate and chocolate doughnut malt. Medium body. Nose is amazing.

Bottle thanks to Brian. Pours a very dark brown with small beige head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is huge hazelnuts, roast, caramel popcorn. Medium mouthfeel with strong hazelnuts, sweet roast, really enjoyed this one.
