OYSTERCATCHER takes its name from a local bird also known in the area as Sea Pie. This bottle conditioned ale is brewed with Teddy Maufe's world class malted Maris Otter barley from Branthill Farm, Wells-next-the-Sea. Oystercatcher is a sunshine golden ale, refreshing and moreish. Best drunk watching the sun go down over the marshes at Brancaster Staithe.

1/12/2018. Bottle from Real Ale Shop, Wells and shared at the 1st Kesgrave 50/50 bottle share. Pours clear bright gold with a frothy off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, hops, fruit and biscuit. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, average carbonation. Dry, biscuit finish. Not bad.

Bottle from the outlaws- cheers! Golden-amber with a thin white head and a pleasant sparkle. Fruity aroma and initial flavour, with malt and straw developing. Moderate, crisp, but well-balanced bitterness. Simple, but tasty, satisfying and somehow elegant bitter. Pretty good stuff.

Cask at Jolly Sailors, Brancaster Staithe, Norfolk. Clear, pale amber. No head. Fruity aroma. Some caramel. Taste is fruity dry. Had this a dozen times before and always liked it. Caught it on a bad day, this time, I think.

Cask. Pours clear amber with a white head. Aroma is fruity with slight vinegar. Flavour is fruity, light malt and a bit of a nasty sharpness. Maybe slightly off..

BCA picked up at Branthill Farm Beer shop, Wells-Next-The Sea, Norfolk 04-07-09 Pours amber little head noted. There is plenty of yeast in suspension but to be fair it was a bad pour by yours truly and after a while it had settled quite well. Nice malty nose. The taste is simple, lightly malty, nice sweetness throughout with some good juicy fruit to balance things out, there is also some hoppiness there but more in a supporting role. I like this beer as it is just a simple uncomplicated session beer. A7 A3 F7 P3 Ov14 3.4
