A beer with a flowerly, hoppy and fruity nose, although malt is never far away. Fruity hop is evident in the taste and there is a consistent bitterness.

Cask at the Fleece Inn, Penwortham. Pours clear amber with a thin white head. Aromas of malt and sulphur. Taste is malt-sweet and chalky. Thin finish.

Hand-pulled pint in ’Jaspers’ during a CAMRA pub crawl around Shifnal, Shropshire on 14th Dec 13. Refreshing but fairly bland ’cooking bitter’ (as my father calls bog standard bitters): leaning towards orange from golden amber in colour with a thin white head. Slight aroma of light malts with a fruity hint. The taste was also of light malts and again with a mild fruit note or two: nothing powerful or strong though, this is an uncomplicated brew with few if any noticeable attributes worthy of mentioning.

Cask @ The Stapleton Tavern, Stroud Green. Marmalade orange, fairly sweet malts with a boring bitter finish.

Cask. Pours clear light brown with a bubbly off white head. Aroma of fruit, malt and bread. Flavour is mainly malt, fruity then a bitter finish.

Cask @ Gallus. Amber colour, off-white head. Aroma of biscuit malts. Flavour is biscuit malts, some citrus and caramel. Slightly dry finish. Weak bitter.
