On tap at Firestone Walker Taproom, Buellton. It’s a dark brown beer with a small dark beige head. Cute lacings. Roasted aroma with coffee and some licorice. Feeling a tad warming on the palate, which it shouldn’t be, full body, soft carbonation. Lots of roasted flavors, coffee, chocolate and some molasses. Nice bitterness towards the mostly roasted finish. Sure pleasant. 130809

03.08.2013, 0,65l bottle @ home:
Nice slightly brown creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly neutral, dark malts, unripe banana, grass, caramel, coffee, chocolate. Taste is dark malts, grass, chalk, ashes, burnt coffee, dark sugar, chocolate, caramel, roasted grain. Medium bitterness, watery mouthfeel. Ohh!, so boring and disappointing!

Draft - Dark roast malts, bitter chocolate and coffee notes. Jet black and a head that will not quit. Dark roast coffee and a toffee sweetness. Rich on the tongue. A finish that lasts and makes you want more. Can this brewery do no wrong, or am I a little drunk? A bit of both I think.

Bottle, 12C. Very dark reddish brown with a looseish light tan head that fades to a coat. Aroma of toasty dark malts, bread, chocolate. Silky mouthfeel - oats win against some hardness, I suppose. Gentle sweetness, just beyond balancing bitterness, dryish finish. Chocolate, licorice, molasses. Classy but unspectacular.

Tap at Plan B, Springfield, 19/05/13. Listed simplth as FW Robust Porter - but figured out it was this! Very dark mahogony brown with a thin tan head. Nose is roast malt, chocolate, toffee. Taste comprises roast malt, bitter chocolate, mineral notes, molasses. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, roasty finish. A decent clean and simple porter.

From a 22 oz bottle shared with Ryan. Pours a murky cola brown with a tan head. Feint chocolatey aroma. Creamy mouth feel with moderate carbonation. Favors of coffee and chocolate. Nice porter.

650ml bottle, thanks lusikka!

Pours pitch black with a large foamy head. Aroma of roasted rye malts, hints of caramel, coffee and chocolate. Taste has a lot of rye, roasted malts and caramel. Finish is sweetish and smooth with a lot of rye and chocolate notes. Nice, quite sweet rye porter.

Bottle thanks to Leighton at the 0-65% tasting. It pours deepest mahogany brown with a thick beige head. The nose is gingerbread, caramel, light varnish, roasted malt and some cocoa. The taste is roasted malt, light caramel, hint of gingerbread, toast, decent bitterness, cooking chocolate, wood and light astringency with a bitter-sweet finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Nice flavour, bitterness and balance. A tasty porter.

Bottle at the 0-65% Tasting, London - thanks to me. Pours clear brown with a tight, beige cream head; looks perfect. Toasty dark malt nose, suggestions of dirt. Light to medium sweet flavor with mellowed roast, dark bread, light hazelnuts. Medium bodied with average to high carbonation. It’s smooth. Light dryness on the finish with moderate roast, balanced cocoa, some earthy, dirty bitterness. Very good balance all through. Nice.
