Advancements to our water treatment and yeast give this one-off Double IPA an incredibly soft, smooth body and rounded flavour profile, making it remarkably easygoing despite its strength. A blend of bold, hand selected hops from America and New Zealand provides an intriguing combination of floral high notes and a juicy fruit backbone.

Can. Beer Central, Sheffield. Soft haze, on a lightly bronzed gold. Decent Cloudwater swede. Nose has apricot jam. Fresh summer berry. Hint of walk in the woods pine. Clean, spicy biscuit malt. Lots going on and comes together well. Taste is sweet, first off, with a pretty juicy, marmalade like bitterness. Medium body. Slick and oily. Brisk carbonation. Lingering juicy, spicy bitterness to finish. Very nice, and a bit out of the ordinary.

Can. After giving us great hop detail on their ‘hand picked’ NZ hop series, Cloudwater have reverted back to their ‘need to know’ approach. Well they are consistent in their inconsistency. Hazy orange gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, slightly soft, decent fine minerally carbonation. Soft creamy sweet malts, nice luxuriant feel. Hope bring smooth cooling pine and a lovely tangerine and mandarin vibe, touch of lime. Smooth finish shows mild hop spice and a little citric peel. I’m gonna guess Wai-Iti, Taiheke and maybe a US ‘C’ hop or two. Happy to be ridiculed by the brewers as long as they tell us what the feckin hops are! Nice dipa!
