440ml can BBE 3 weeks ago. Clear dark gold/light amber, small white head, some retention. Aroma of malts, pine, orange, slight resin, touch of caramel. Taste is pine, citrus, orange zest, grapefruit, a slight malt background but quite clean and crisp in flavour. Moderate bitterness. Medium body but has a wet refreshing mouthfeel, slight dryness in the finish and not that sweet. Good IPA.

440ml can delivered from the Blue Boar, Leicester and drunk at home. Dark gold and clear with the ghost of a white head. Orchard fruit, pine needles, dried grass in the fairly straightforward aroma. It's got a proper old-style IPA bitterness, complete with a gummy resinous note mid-sip. Slightly medicine edge to the intense bitterness in the finish. Oily body and, despite the flat appearance, heavy carbonation. After so many sweet IPAs it took me a while to readjust to this.

440ml can from www.sophiesbeerstore.co.uk. Clear gold appearance with loose bubbly white head. Aroma presents resinous hops, caramel, grapefruit. Taste continues in a similar fashion, moderately sweet with a robust bitterness and big piney West Coast character, some underlying caramel. Has a good bite to it. Decent.
