This beer is a celebration of everything we've learned about barrrel ageing over the last 15 years. This double IPA has been matured in specially selected 15 year old whisky barrels from a famous distillery in the Highlands of Scotland.

The aromas are a marriage of zesty orange and oak. On the palate, juicy maltiness compliments the vibrant orange marmalade hop flavours and the finish is mellow with hints of vanilla and heather honey from the barrel.

Bottle. Clear yellow pour, with a medium white head. Aroma is loaded with that typical buttery, oaky Innis and Gunn barrel. The hops are hard to find, touches of pine, and some alcohol, and that's it. Mouth feel is nice, carb is solid. Finish is boozy, with a rubbing alcohol quality, sweet corny malts, no hops. Jesus christ this was bloody awful.

Bottled (from Systembolaget Umeå). Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, floral and some wooden notes. Flavour is fruity, floral, some wood and a bit alcohol sweetness. Wellbalanced, but a bit thin for a double IPA.

(Bottle) Amber colour with foamy, off-white head. Malty, hoppy nose with rye bread, oak wood, dried apricots, treacle-toffee, orange peel, spices and honey. Malty taste with notes of oak wood, rye bread, apricots, toffee, spices, vanilla, orange peel and a balanced spicy/citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well made, with a mild woody touch. Nice one.

Bottle from The Gull, North Vancouver
Golden colour, clean. Sweetish, pleasant Golden Ale with mild whiskey scent.
Not an IIPA, but it's a pleasant beer.

Golden and bright. No head. This has a nice hop note, fairly floral, and with a sweet malt accent. There's a fair bit of sweetness, nice floral hop notes.
