Tap at the brewpub. Pours ambery gold with a white head. Aroma of pale stone fruits. Med body. Flavor is earthy citrus with strong caramel support. Bitter finish. Not quite old school. Quite drinkable.

Cloudy, muddy even, dull light brown. Aroma is fresh pine&grapefruit. Bubbly head. Smooth, grapefruity, really nice IPA with a good malt balance. Solid. Pint this one.

At the brewery, this one was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance had a fairly decent amber color with no head and no lacing (no worries, bar pour - ah cheers).
The smell had a decent bittered and somewhat sweet apple in an earthy roasty and somewhat toasty fresh citrus sort of way. Light cereal adds to this.
The taste took those previously mentioned flavors to add a tender sweetness to it.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionable quality about it. The carbonation finishes good for the style and decent to me.
Overall, different AIPA than what I had. Everything seems to fit for the style and yet it still carries a ’different’ sort of perhaps authentic Alaskan quality to it.

Drank this from a growler. Very light and airy. Sweet candied sugar and molasses nose and taste. Slight caramel as well. Goes down very easy. Rated 8/15/02
