This alt poured a deep amber colour with a white, soapy head. Minimal lacing. Scents include sweet caramel and alcohol. First swig was low in carbonation and a little thin with flavours of molasses and light toast. Finish is not overly sweet with light caramel flavours and a minimal hoppy bitterness that lingers.

16 oz. bottle. Dark amber/ near brown in color, fast dying head. Aroma is toasted grain, yeast, mild caramel.
The flavor is dark bread, toffee, and a very mild hop in the finish. Almost a fruit hint from hops. Very low bitterness. Sweet toffee ending. The yeast is present in the can. A bit better than I was expecting.

Poured a caramel brown with a thin tan head. Really malty with hint of veggie. Taste is water and malt, weird sugary finish.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours lightly cloudy ruby red color with a 1 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of caramel, toffee, toast, brown bread, plum, apple, light nuttiness, light chocolate, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt, earthy hops, and yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of caramel, toffee, toast, brown bread, light chocolate, light nuttiness, plum, apple, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Light earthy herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toffee, toast, brown bread, light nuttiness, light chocolate, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and complexity of dark/bready malt. earthy hops, and light-moderate yeast fester flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice altbier. All around good robustness, balance, and complexity of dark/bready malt, earthy hop, and light-moderate yeast ester flavors; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

On tap at the Mackinac Island Draught House. Pours a clear deep amber with a near white head that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma has notes of sweet bread and biscuit with a leafy backbone. Flavor has more of an earthy bread note with leaves and grass backing.

Bottle. Buttery caramel malt and hay aroma. Cloudy dark amber with small head. Sweet caramel malt, straw and lightly bitter herbal/astringent flavor. Body a bit light. Not bad.

Hazy dark amber. Smooth and full-bodied on the palate. A bit too much malt sweetness, but overall a decent beer.

On tap at Mulligan’s Pub and Restaurant, Cheboygan. Hazy orange-brown body, thin cream head. Nutty, grainy nose. Cerealy, nutty, toasty body with brown sugar and leafy hops. Fairly complex and quaffable.
