Bottle from Brewery Creek, Vancouver
Black color with small compact brownish head. Strong aroma of roasted malts, coffee, light ashes, light bread. Lean body, soft mouthfeel, off-dry in the front; nice roasted malt flavor, some dark chocolate. Not too ashy; there is a touch of liquorice; a bit dusty in the final; strong bitterness, with a reasonable share of hop resins.
Nice example, well drinkable.

Thanks, Alex! Dark brown, rich chocolatey/fudgey aroma with a splash of coffee. Bittersweet character, lots of bitter chocolate, just a touch of nuttiness and a lingering bitter finish. Really good example.

Nitro draft at the brewery. Thick and creamy pour with roasted malt and coffee. Stands up with a lot of stouts. Very well done.

Bottle: Poured a dark black with a thin brown head. Aroma is light hops and huge bold roasted malt. Rugged hops meld transparently with bold roasted malts, slight coffee grounds as well.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours almost pitch black color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy tan head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of orange zest, grapefruit, lemon zest, floral, light pine, roasted malt, cocoa, coffee, light char, toast, and floral/roasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of hop and roasted notes; but fairly weak on strength. Taste of orange zest, grapefruit, pine, floral, roasted malt, cocoa, coffee, light char, toast, and floral/roasted earthiness. A moderate amount of pine/roast bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus zest, pine, floral, roasted malt, cocoa, coffee, light char, toast, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice and well balanced hop and roasted malt flavors; with solid complexity and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a fairly creamy, crisp, and sticky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a nice black IPA. Good balance of hop and roasted malt flavors with solid complexity; and very smooth and crisp to sip on. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Bottle shared at RBWG 2012. Pours a dark brown with a medium frothy tan head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is a light roast and hops. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet roast and light bitter finish. Hides alcohol well a good black IPA from Two Beers.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a black / dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, citrus hops, and some toasted bread. Flavour of roasted malt to start, followed by nice, bitter citrus hops. Medium-bodied with a roasty, hoppy finish.
