Bottle at Volo. Black pour, medium beige head. Aroma is roasty, with some sharp grassy notes, and lactic, odd hoppy notes. Kinda hard to put my finger on. No sourness per se....but I’m getting some lambic/lactic funkiness. The finish is lightly bitter, more funk and roast, subtle cocoa, and coffee, with some dark prunes and figs.

Bottle at home. Aroma is dark malt, bretty funk, ripe dark fruits, yeast, berries, touch of dark chocolate and coffee. Flavour is light sweet with a hint of sour and a light bitter finish. Body is medium. Nice Belgian ’Wild Porter’, could use a little more body, interesting beer.

Bottle, 0.33l. Aroma of roasted malt, mild chocolate, leather, dried fruit and hint of a red wine. Pours hazy dark brown color with thin creamy light brown head. Taste starts tart yeasty and slightly medicinal, following is heavily roasted and leathery with dried fruity acidity and chocolate note, mouthfeel is smooth, while finish is mild bitter. Medium to full body, creamy texture and average carbonation in palate. Wild fruity porter…

Bottle from Geers, couple of months past expiration. Hazy black with a stable, small, foamy, beige head. Aroma of prune, brambleberry, red apple, blue grape, coffee bean, dark chocolate powder, toast. Taste has sweet prune, apple, grape, chocolatey & bit toasty edge, some sour berries & funky wood on top. Tart finish, tart fruit, bit earthy, low hoppiness, more of that chocolatey powder effect & wood. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Nice blend of styles, I like it, even past its prime.

Aroma of caramel, some chocolate, red fruits. Not very intensive. Taste of caramel and little chocolate. Watery. Nothing happens. Low body and carbonation. I kept it for so long time, maybe that's the point. This bottle is very bad.

Dark brown with a sticky, frothy, beige head that lingers. Aroma full of roasted grains and quite earthy. Further sniffing reveals dog food, chocolate and cherries. Certainly interesting! Taste is very mildly bitter with some mild Brett sourness arising at the finish. Mild though—not enough to put off the wife, who despises sour beer. Finishes tart and full of oak and toffee. Medium bodied, balanced carbonation. A good one!
