Dark brown, thin head, almost smokiness in the dark malt character. Good body, slight sweetness in the balanced finish.

Reviewed from notes. Into a mug.
The appearance has a black colored body with a slim half finger white foamy head, slight foamy lacing seems to speckle just a bit.
The smell came across kinda smokey and a slight dark chocolate comes through in a weird sort of way, not exactly sure how to take this.
The taste came through a sort of a smokey and sweet through the most part, slight smokey/meaty aftertaste, super dry finish.
This one sits about a medium on the palate, though it gives off a somewhat sessionable quality to it. Carbonation is fairly subdued, but good for the style.
Overall, this is not a normal porter I’m used to, a little bit smokier than I thought it would be but still a good one. Pretty sure I’d have this one again.

Bottle, thanks SHIG! Pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma is roast, cocoa and light smoke. Flavor is light and semi-tart like a traditional porter. Big roast, cocoa nibs, tart cherry in the finish. Nice and highly drinkable.
