25cl bottle from Auchan. Pours a misty dark brown, large off-white head. Aroma has some spice, sweet dark malt. Taste continues along a similar theme. Surprisingly well balanced & flavoursome. Rich sweet dark malts, light spice, retains good strength. Like Cuvee Van de Kaizers younger brother.

0.25 l bottle from 'Belgiuminabox.com', best before November 2019. Clear, dark reddish brown with a thin, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish, yeasty-spicy and slightly fruity aroma of caramel, coriander, toasted coconut, some raisins and a touch of chocolate. Moderately sweet, malty, yeasty-spicy and slightly fruity taste of caramel, raisins, coriander and a touch of chocolate, followed by a medium long, quite bitter, moderately yeasty-spicy and slightly roasty finish. Medium body, quite effervescent mouthfeel, average to lively carbonation. Pretty one-dimensional, far from complex, but well-balanced and not overy sweet. Quite okay.

Bottle. Clear bronze pour with ruby highlights. Tall fluffy ivory-coloured head. Aroma: toasted malts, spices, figs, esters, burnt sugar. Medium to full body. Average to lively carbonation. Moderately sweet taste. Vinous. Caramel & toast. Dried fruit. Some hay / cardboard. Low to light bitterness. Generally good with little off-things.

Pours cloudy dark brown with a lasting, foamy, beige head. The aroma contains malt, caramel, raisins, dates and other fruits, some licorice and spices. It tastes medium sweet and - in the finish - light bitter and even light sour. The alcohol is well hidden. Creamy/oily texture, light, fizzy carbonation, long finish. Reminded me a bit of Rochefort 10, though not as complex and intense, of course. I find this very tasty.
