A group of enterprising brewers on a quest to explore new recipes reinterpret old ones and collaborate freely to bring exciting beers to life.
Dublin Porter is inspired by a reference in our historic brewers' diaries dating back to 1796. It is a sweet and smooth beer with subtle caramel and hoppy aroma notes and a burnt biscuit finish.

Bottle shared at Chris and Ruthโs pre-GBBF tasting 2015 - London. Pours clear brown with a frothy beige head. Dusty malt nose, some toast, earth. Light sweet flavor with hints of wood, earth, toast, grain. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with lightly toasted malts, weak earth, grain. Pretty bland.

31.07.2015, 0,5l bottle @ home:
Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet roasted, butterscotch, dark sugar, roasted grain, hay, grass, caramel. Taste is kind of neutral, minerals, paper, burnt grain, grass, caramel. Little bitterness, very watery mouthfeel. So boring!

A bit coca cola color with a nice tan head. Mild roasted and coffee in the aroma. Medium body, with a soft carbonation. Ok balance between sweetness and bitterness. Cold coffee and mild roasted flavor. Nice easy drinkable porter.

Clear deep amber - brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is light and crisp. Mild dark malts, just a trace of roast. Clear marmite streak, obvious but not too strong. Mellow dark fruits. Light crisp finish. Fairly drinkable.

Keg pint at the Owain Glyndwr, Cardiff. Served too cold. Dark ruby colour, nearly black. Small off-white to beige head (not nitro). Very moderate aroma, roast malts and burnt potato skin. The flavour has notes of moderately roasted malt, quite dry, hints of smoked meat and burnt potato skin. Light bodied. Not great, but far from undrinkable.

Bottle from ASDA. Near black, with a big, beige, head. Sweet caramel, a hint of roasted malts and something vegetal, before a soft finish. Thin in the mouth, but gluggable.

50cl bottle shared with a friend. Thin creamy off white head. Clear deep burgundy pour. Not as good as the West Indies porter. A bit thin in comparison

Bottle at the Shakespeare Hotel, Bedford. Chocolate brown, not a lot of head. A bit of mocha, charcoal and molasses aroma. Surprisingly sweet with just a bit of bitter in the finish. Light body for a porter. I donโt know why the rates are so low, this is ok actually.
