Bottle shared at the ’Beers of London’ Tasting MkII, Bespin Cloud City - Hyde Park zone, thanks to Paulo 11/02/15. Clear amber with moderate off white spotting. Nose is rich fruit, spice, candied fruit peel, bitter orange, mineral notes, glaced cherrues, wooded sherry whisper. Taste comprises vanilla, oak, cherry skins, dark fruit notes. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. Ok.

Bottleshare at Leighton’s flat. Thanks to Scopey for this one. Almost clear amber beer, few pale cream colour bubbles not forming a head. Smooth malts lead to mild sherry and dried fruits. Bitterish wood and caramel. A slightly off putting rubber note on the back end. Dry finish. Woody bitter linger. Interesting.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Paul. Pours clear amber with a bubbly, off-white head. Smells not very good, with notes of wet wood, plastic, old fruits and metal. Medium sweet flavor with aggressive burnt grass bitterness, caramel, oxidation. Medium to full bodied, oily and a bit chewy, with soft carbonation. Finishes warm and sticky, more notes of oxidation, woody dryness, earth. So so.

Bottle shared at Leightons pad. Many thanks to Paul. Reddy coloured pour with a loose small halo of head. Aroma is earthy caramel, orange peel, twigs, little booze, weird funk on the nose, whisky. Flavour is composed of nutty caramel, toffee, tangy berry fruits, orange peel, faint mellow booze, sherry, dried fruits. Palate is semi sweet, lowish carbonation, tangy fruits in the finish. Some warming alcohol. Ok enough.

Bottle shared at Leightons. It pours clear deep mahogany brown with minimal head. The nose is varnish, phenolic, sherry, jammy, berry, booze, ripe fruit and dull smoke. The taste is bitter, burnt plastic, alcohol, spicy, wood, dull sherry, dried berry, charred, medicinal stuff and a touch of menthol with odd earthy finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Aroma is quite nice, but the taste is very odd indeed. Messy.

Sampled from bottle @ THT November. Murky brownish color, medium to full sized slightly creamy beige head. Vegetable aroma with old hops. Taste malts, slightly bitter, a touch of caramel. Don’t like the aroma but the taste is ok.

330ml bottle at home, from Alesela. Murky copper brown pour, but with decent head & lacing. Wood alcohol aromas, apple crumble, whisky marmalade as it warms up. Taste has a light whisky burn, then a fruitcake sweetness that is very appealing. I like this. Packs a lot of punch. Slightly thin on the finish, but a lot going on, in a good way.
