Molenbier was one of the first beers ever made by our brew-master Menno Olivier. Although the recipe was tweaked over time it still is the same light sweet, medium bitter yet rather hoppy beer as it was intended to be.

330ml bottle. Minimally cloudy reddish amber colour with huge, firm, frothy to creamy, lacing, white to off-white head. Aroma is slightly sweet toasted malty and minimally grainy, with some bitter hop emanating from the huge head, decent hints of dark fruit and chocolate. Taste is moderately sweet toasted malty, grainy, dark fruity notes transform to a chocolately touch. Sticky finish. Not to its disadvantage more lively carbonated than an "English" English Strong Ale.

(Bottle, Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm) Reddish amber colour with frothy, beige head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of dried fruit, marzipan, wild berries and apricots. Fruity, malty taste with dried fruit, wild berries, marzipan, candy sugar and a generous spicy bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, slightly sweet. Tasty and very nice.

33cl bottle. Orangish colour with a nice formation of an off-white, nice lacing, moderate lacing head. Aroma is hoppy, red fruits are present (cherries, strawberries). Flavour is strong bittery from the beginning to the end, dry in the final. Carbonation is medium. Body is medium.

A dark brown beer with a big, lasting and beige head. Aroma is caramelly and sweet, berries, strawberries, "wet wood", surprisingly "berryjuice" like aroma. Taste is toffeeish and malty, sweet berries, after beginning taste turns into dryer and wooden hoppyness takes place, dark fruits, aftertaste is tight and slightly biting. Medium+ bodied, nice and style like drinkability. Aftertaste isn’t very nice, otherwise, berry, quite unique and interesting beer.

33 cl bottle. Pours hazy brown with a small off white and collapsing head. Aroma is roasted malty and light spiced to hoppy note. Smooth and light fryity into the finish. Bakng yeasty, fruity and light caramelish flavoured. Smooth malty and light fruity finish.

Bottle. Pours amber, with a solid head that rather quickly recedes to lacing. A very malt accentuated brew, with a good roasted malty aroma. Flavour follows suit with caramel and roasted malts, and good notes of nuts and dark fruits that continues through the finish.

330 ml bottle bought @ Bierzwerg.de. Pours hazy amber with a big frothy off-white head that clings to the glass and leaves some lacing on it while slowly dissipating. Smell is sweet with sweet fruits like plums and raisins, caramel, alcohol and some hints of peaches and citrus. Taste is malty, bitter and slightly metallic with minerals, resin, dandelions and pine. Finish is dry and very bitter. Weird one this one, not sure what I think…

Bottle from Vinmonopolet, Vika. Pours lightly clouded amber with a huge, frothy off-white head. Aroma of yeast, spices and malt with earthy notes. Smells a bit strange, but quite pleasant taste.

(bottle, 33cl, 7.5% abv) Slightly hazy, copper to deep amber colour with a medium-sized tanned foamy head. Slightly sugary sweet malty and distinctively fruity aroma with notes of candied berries, strawberries and peaches, accompanied by shades of caramel in the background. Bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Cara-malty and fruity taste with present herbal and slightly woody hops; dry-ish bitter hoppy and quite lasting finish with fruity spots.
