NovaBirra et Wave Distil proposent une série de bières originales à la croisée de leurs univers respectifs. Strabismus est le résultat d'un assemblage de Big Nose vieillie en fûts de whisky August 17th. Pour cet assemblage particulier, les fûts choisis permettent à cette bière triple d’exprimer une structure gustative complexe où se mêlent les notes boisées et oxydatives.

0,5l bottle from Comptoir des Fagnes beer store near Couvin in Belgium. F: no real, some egg-white bubbles and thin film. C: amber, hazy. A: rich malty, woody, mellow fruity, whisky, caramel, toffee, dried fruits, honey touch, floral, smoky touch. T: full malty base, whisky, woody, mellow fruity, dried fruits, toffee touch, warming alcohol, almost no carbonation, quite boozy staff here yet nice balanced, enjoyed.

Pours unclear, darker amber. Smell is boozy, butter. Taste is medium fullbodied, boozy (barrel) , no butter here. Decent. Heavy. A sipper. Lower carbonation.

Bouteille 50cl de Malt Attacks.
Dorée-orange, col fin blanc.
Arôme est plaisant avec de fines effluves de barrique, sucre résiduel caramélisé laissant une fine couche rappelant un vin oxydé.
Palais est malté sur une approche bien belge triple, retrouve un côté boisé whisky plaisant, note douce de sucre de cane, un peu oxydé avec un fini un peu Porto-Jerez Oloroso que whisky. Riche et complexe.

Little cloudy amber to dark blond beer, small creamy white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: lots of whisky, oxidized, bit fruity, alcohol, decent. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: alcohol, very oxidized, more alcohol, bit sugary, whisky. Aftertaste: bit sourish, lots of alcohol, fruity touch, very oxidized.

Hazy ámber colour, moderate sized ecru-like off-white head; aroma of whisky, biscuits, caramel and dried apricot; taste has the same notes with intensive alcohol; first: it is very far from a typical tripel; second: this barrel-aging like whiskyness is not really fits to the style; third: it does not have enough body to this high ABV...
