Copenhagen Beer Celebration, 2012. Pours black with a creamy head and lacings. Roast, whiskey, soy, salt, booze and charcoal. Peated.

Draft at CBC. Pours black with a small beige head. Aroma is major peat, hard to get anything else through that. Flavour is smokey, peat, whiskey, burnt malt, some coffee and some fruit. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

[5/11/12] Draught sample at Copenhagen Beer Celebration. Black with a brown foam. Aroma full of whiskey, wood and burnt notes. Strong flavor of whiskey, burnt malt, some coffee, alcohol and a dry finish. Full-bodied. Too whiskey-ish for me.

On tap at CBC 2012. Black with a tan head. A lot of whisky in this one, both in the aroma and taste. Also licorice, salt, wood and ash. Some notes of alcohol.

High viscosity. Flavour is lightweight with some wet woody notes and hints of peat. Flavour is woody with peat, lots of licorice. Whiskey ccomes through but alcohol doesn’t. Good.

Draught @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration
Pours pitch black with a small brown head. Strong sweet oaky whisky aroma with wooden notes and roasty malts. Taste is sweet and slightly roasty with oaky wooden notes and some warming whisky hints. Finish is sticky and slightly sweet. A bit too sweet for my taste

Hefiger, stark malziger aber weicher Beginn, würzig, vollmundig. Sehr atomatisch, gelungen, vollmundig. Röstig, rund, absolut ausgewogen, geringe Kaffeenoten. Im Abgang kurz brennend. /12/11/11//12

Decorative cask. Black color, large bubble brown head. Aroma of cocoa, vanilla, dilute coffee. Taste is similar. Nice.

Cask @ ACBF 2012: lovely cask with the ‘De Molen’ logo stamped on it, black with a head which is basically only big bubbles, quickly popping, taste is sweet mocha, coffee, plenty of blueberries, blackberries, mocha, sweet dark berries, chocolate, slight hint of burned coffee, in the aftertaste, milk chocolate, slight boozyness & touch bitter in the aftertaste, body is very creamy with soft carb. very fruity, love the berry flavours on this one, very good
