Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel Florentin. Thanks Tom L. As "Wagner Valley Oatmeal Stout". Black. Great aroma with lots of dark chocolate and some roast. Sweetish and slightly bitter flavor, roasty, with some dark chocolate. Medium-bodied. Flavor is not as great as the aroma, but still a pretty nice one.

Bottle from Half Time. Doesn’t have Caywood though. Just plain oatmeal. Pours black with a 2 finger darkish tan head. Chocolate aroma. Medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor is bitter chocolate. Maybe this should be a new entry? Finishes with a hint of coffee and a very dark chocolate bitterness.

Label said this is a plain oatmeal stout, not the Caywood Station variety, but it looks like it is the same. Dark pour. Baking chocolate nose. Sweet, almost sour stout with a dry finish.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a tan head and a black body. Aroma of cocoa, grainy and dirt. Taste is chocolate with some oatmeal. A bit thin, and watery. Not horrible.

Bottle: Dark brown with a thin creamy beige head. Aroma of heavy roast, light cocoa and mocha. Flavor is lighter in roast with more chocolate, and light maltiness. Has that lingering oatmeal, chocolatey, dry finish with light bittersweetness. Fun. Thanks Beerbill.

Pours black with a tan head that quickly fades. Aroma is faint and diary like. Taste is nothingness, some roasty coffee but very faint as well. Very watery, thin body. Leaves an empty feeling in my mouth.

Deep opaque black with overcarnonated foamy moka head! Watch out...had the same problem with another of thier beer (brown ale). Faint dry chocolate nose. Semi sweet chocolate and berries, with some dry hops in aftertatse, very creamy but lacks in terms of consistence...ok stout.

I'm glad a bunch of others mentioned a huge head on this beer. I opened it, after having it still for a good couple of hours and i poured two glasses of nothing but head. After a good 10 minutes, there was maybe 100 mL of liquid to drink. The head was dark brown, and the colour of the beer was dark brown, almost black. Completely opaque. The smell was very sweet, I don't know if this is just the head or if the beer smells like this also. Malty taste with definate chocolate and coffee notes. Not too bad of a beer from the taste and palate, HOWEVER when you can only enjoy 100 mL of a beer and have to worry about cleaning up two glasses and having to wait about 15 minutes for the head to die down from both glasses, it is a big turn-off. Maybe something happened to this one, but this will most likely be the last beer I have from Wagner Valley. Spend your money on more worthy breweries. I bought this 12 ounce bottle from Beers of the World...that might be the problem right there!!!! ;-)

This has a decent appearance with an aroma of roasted oats. Not a lot going on in the flavor. Some roasty, coffee-like notes and a mild, oatmeal sweetness. This has a thin and watery finish. Not a bad stout, but not a memorable one either.
