My first taste said...this is a good lager. Nice head, somewhat cloudy appearance(which I don't take points off for) and an overall malt dominated taste backed up my early impressions.
After drinking a couple of more samples, I say this one is well tucked in the very drinkable category. Good show, Yellowstone Valley Brewing!
PS: It's retired? Mystores just got it in!!

Bottle: Pours a dull copper/orange color with a thin sandy head. Nose is malty and sweet, lights bits of grass. Taste has much more character than the nose; citrus, grapes, a sweet malty backbone, and a surprisingly crisp floral finish. The finish really helps out as the majority of the taste is very sweet. I can imagine the similarities in flavor to adding wild honey and herbs, but retaining mostly the sweet aspects. I feel like I should give this a few bonus points since my wife liked it… I could really see this being a good base for a hoppy lager or bock.

12oz bottle thanks to Jake65. Pours a hazy amber with some lacing white head. Nose of apple cider, some malt vinegar, a little red grape, some medicine cabinet. Uh oh, infection alert. Tastes of apples, rusty nickels and malt vinegar. Mostly clean finish. No idea what this would be like on a normal day, but this bottle is infected.

Bottle thanks to Dallas. Pours a clear amber color. Basic, sweet nutty malts, very clean, almost dominated by grains. Light honey. OK.

Bottle thanks to my parents. Pours cloudy amber. Fizzy white head. Nose/taste of spent grain, orange peel and lager malt. Medium body.

12oz bottle. Unfiltered amber-brown color with a big foamy off-white head. Funky sweet aroma with a touch of earthy hops. Somewhat tangy. Medium-bodied. Some mild amber malt notes, balanced out by the odd tartness and slight hoppy crispness. Sweet malty aftertaste with a touch of cherry twang. Seems a touch off, but Ambers are strange creatures.

12 oz bottle brought back from a Yellowstone trip by my friend John! Nose of caramel, light sweetness, with some butteriness (diacetyl); lightly hazy coppery amber with a medium beige head; flavor is slightly sweet caramel with a very faint butter note (I don’t like diacetyl but this was so faint it was actually pleasant in the flavor).Looks like I got lucky and didn’t get an infected bottle as the ratings go all over. Decent average amber!

This beer looks like an apple cider and is very low on the carbonation. Unusual flavor of vodka and grain. Caramel aftertaste. Lightly sweet malt and no hop presence.
