A deep dark ale with a thin lacing dark brown head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with dark fruits, licorice, chocolat, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet chocolate malt with dark fruits, light peated notes, alcohol warmth, very nice. Bottle from Sept 2011.

22oz bottle. Pours out brown with some ruby highlights topped with a tan head. Nose is toast malts vanilla cinnamon molasses and spice. Taste is more of the vanilla roast malts spice and a nice sweetness.

Bomber from TheEpeeist. Nose is light chili, dark chocolate, and a little vanilla. Clear dark cherry brown with a medium beige head. Flavor is a lot of chocolaty cocoa, moderate vanilla, and a hint of peppery heat but not much, the chocolate dominates. Good beer but would probably be better with a little more of the peppers.

Deep dark black body with a thin tan head and some lighter colours near the bottom. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt, cardboard, a touch of vanilla and a potent kick of chiles. Medium to Full-bodied; Nice pungent flavours with a lot of the spices coming through and a good malt flavour right behind. Aftertaste shows chiles the strongest with a lot of other strong flavours including some coffee, roasted malt, caramalised sugars and a decent amount of heat at the finish. Overall, nice to sample and an interesting beer, but not amazing. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 20-November-2011 for US$7.25 sampled at home in Washington on 19-February-2012.

Bottled. A dark red beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of straw, alcohol, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes notes of caramel, bread, and malt, leading to a dry alcoholic finish.

Shmaltz bottling. 650ml. Pours with a deep brown pour with a large tan to khaki head. Good retention and lace. Aromas are very estery, dark fruits, banana, stewed apples, light spice, cocoa, lots of vanilla, earthy, fudge and a bit ashy. Flavors are outright weird. Fudgy up front with a lot of cream soda notes, earthy, toasty, mild pepper on the finish. Estery, fruity, chalky. Overkill. Medium carbonation, fuller bodied. Very minimal alcohol notes. A bit soda like. Chalky. Low drinkability.

Bomber. Pours mahogany with a large beige lacy head with great retention. Aroma is bready, spices; licorice comes out as it warms. Taste is reminiscent of Samuel Smith’s Taddy Porter. Weird, wasn’t expecting that. The chocolate and vanilla come through, but it takes some concentration to identify any chili pepper. It’s subtle but there; mostly it shows up on the palate after a good belch. Carbonation is soft and the mouthfeel is creamy. This is the most English-tasting beer by an American brewer I’ve ever had. It’s pretty good but I wish the chili peppers were more pronounced. Give me some *SPICY* dammit.

Deep brown pour with a medium tan head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted grain, cocoa and malt. Medium body with a roasty character and flavors of malt, chocolate and touches of dark fruit. Faint spice in the background. The finish is slightly spicy with a malty aftertaste. Overall this is an interesting beer. The chili is subtle enough to not be a distraction, making for a decent beer all around.

Bottle. Beer of the month club. Almost opaque dark brown to black color with a nice big beige head. Aroma of lots of cocoa, dark chocolate, vanilla, some roastiness and some hoppy notes. Sweet flavor, a bit sugary, with some roasted malt, lots of vanilla, chocolate and hops. Finishes bitterish, "green" and spicy with some chili peppers and a bit of hops with light piney notes. Medium-bodied. Too sweet and overall a bit messy for my liking.

Bomber from Belmont Party Supply. Pours a clear dark reddish color with a large frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of roasted malts, vanilla and faint fruity notes. The taste is roasted malts, vanilla, peppers, chocolate. Medium bodied.
