Brown body, beige head. Aroma of molasses, lots of caramel, light yeast, a herbal, spicy touch. Sweet flavour, liquorice (drop), light bitter. Lots of carbo. Finish liquorice, lots of caramel, some raisins.
(From 75cL bottle @ RBESG 2013 Grand Tasting, Bodegraven. Thanks for sharing, Abijen!)

75 cl. bottle sampled @ RBESG 2013. Thx! to Abijen. Stupid name. I should really try more stuff by these guys. Pours a hazy brown with a light ruby hue. Almost no head. Nose is thick sweet liquorish, berries, herbs & very sweet malts. Taste is very sweet liquorish, herbs, maple syrup, sap, berries. Body is a touch fizzy. Nice stuff.

Poured a chestnut brown with a thin tan head and lots of carbonation. The aroma is rich yeast and fruit leading to a zesty, lively fruity resin flavour that dances around on your tongue. A super beer and e name says it all. I’m surprised this beer was not more popular.

Bottled @ RBESG 2013 Grand Tasting. Spicy, cardemom? Bit caramel, very spicy and dry. I’m not a spiced up belgian style lover (more of a hater), but this one was ok actually.

Bottle @ RBESG grand tasting. Unclear reddish color, small beige head. Smell a lot of herbs or spices. Tastes about the same, lightly malty, quite a lot of herbs and spices again and sweetness. Not my beer.

33cl bottle @ de Bierboom in Brugge on 18th Oct 2012. Rudy doesn’t have many glasses and this was given to me with an unmarked chalice to drink it from: it worked! The beer pours almost jet black (it is dark in de Bierboom, even on a sunny day): anywhere else it is most likely dark brown with a ruby tinge. The head was full, deep and tan coloured. Dark chocolate malts rule here: the nose and taste just ooze chocolate, dark, bitter and yet an underlying sweetness abounds too. Interesting and heavy bodied, a night cap sort of beer, not a mid-afternoon mid-session beer like when I had it!

Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours very dark slightly ruddy amber. With a creamy beige/tan head. Smells like a quad. Dark fruit. Chocolate. Med body. Flavor is plummy with chocolate and a spicy pepper bite. Tasty.
