Bottle shared at Leightons pad. Dark mahogany brown coloured pour with a fleeting tan HEAD. Aroma is big vanilla oak, tangy fruit, roast burnt toast. Vinous fruits. Flavour is composed of full dark choc, vanilla, choc, oak, whisky, hint of smoke. Palate is full sticky body, smooth and velvety. Really good.

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Daniel! Pours oily black with a foamy brown head that fades a bit quickly. Quite a decadent aroma, lots of gooey dark malts, chocolate, cherries, wood. Big sweet flavor with lots more dark chocolate, raisins, dark berries, brownies, earthy bitterness. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, with loads of gooey chocolate, dark fruits, mellow earthy bitterness, some vanilla, booze, dates. Great stuff. Very drinkable, nicely nuanced.

Bottle thanks to Dan. It pours darkest brown with a small tan head. The nose is big, rich roast, sweet vanilla, fudge, juicy, Scottish tablet, toffee, wood and candy. The taste is slick, rich roast, earth, big coffee, toasted coconut, vanilla, warming alcohol, mild astringency, dark fruits and pepper with a dry finish. Full body, fine carbonation and slick mouth-feel. Brilliant aroma going on. Rather nice.

Pours pitch black, small yet very dark head. Smell only has hints of oak, plus some grainy-lisious whiskey. Next to the obvious base beers characters, of course. Taste is absolutely amazing. Supercomple, hints of malts, oat, chocolate, very hidden yet supernice coffee aspects. Some oak, bit of whiskey. Silky mouthfeel and perfect carbo. Bit sweet ( barrel) ending. waaw, I’m impressed, and its been LONG since I was positively impressed by Mikkeller.
