This amazing beer combines the best of all worlds. Five specialty malts and three superior hop varieties have been carefully chosen from the Pacific Northwest, the U.K. and Europe. The malted barleys and hops create a rich, traditional porter. The addition of all natural pure blackberry provides an exciting complexity to this easy sipping wonder. Lean back, relax and savour the flavour!

(bottle) clear dark brown colour with small brown head; aromas of sour fruit, flavour of sour fruit; little to none porter character, more like bad sour fruit juice

Smells like blackberry, some malt - pretty rich aroma. Pours dark brown/black with some head and pretty good lacing. Palate is medium to high. Taste has bitterness which tastes like a mix between roasty malt and blackberry. A bit of sourness as well. Bottle from LCBO.

650 ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown/red with one finger of head. Aromas of blackberry jam and roasted malts. Similar taste though more than a bit acidic. But overall quite nice.

Bomber brought by Enniskillen from Victoria and shared with me. Nose is berries, chocolate, and a roasty hint. Very dark cherry brown with a small beige head. Flavor is blackberries and chocolate like a chocolate covered blackberry, yummy!

Pours with a nice solid head and a dark brown colour with just a hint of purple. Aroma is a strong mix of roasted barley and fruity blackberry. Flavour is strong barley with a bit of coffee in the mix and a bitter finish. It’s good, but I would have appreciated more blackberry in the flavour.

Blackberries are omnipresent but never overbearing. Very malt forward with some spices and maybe a whisper of bitterness.

Wow... I was not expecting much from this fruit porter, after having the Barley Days Yuletide Cherry Porter a year ago, and not really enjoying the mix between porter and fruit (cherry). This time, it’s blackberries, and it seems to work much better. This beer pours a dark brown, but not black, and has red highlights. Its head is nice and creamy, tanned, has great retention even staying all along, coating the brew and lacing all over. Fresh blackberry smell with some dark malt in the background and hints of butterscotch. Beautiful mouthfeel that refreshing, but not too watery and oily, with a little dryness in the end. The fruit is present in the taste, but very well-balanced with notes of roasted malt, caramel malt, coffee and molasses. This beer is so well-brewed, I really enjoyed it and would love to have some in cellar.
