Bottle from House of Trembling Madness, online. Pours black with small slightly fizzy beige head, modest retention. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, light roasted malts. Pleasant. Taste is certainly as per aroma, sweet, tons of the chocolate and vanilla coming through, mild berry tang, and roasty bitterness. Its a solid performer, enjoyed it.

Bottle. Black beer, lively head though that pretty much immediately fizzes out and it LOOKS a bit flat. Smells a lot better with loads of vanilla and chocolate. Tastes nice too, the vanilla gives it an almost marshmallowy flavour up front like Stay Puft (Tiny Rebel) or similar, though it ends up tasting a lot more malt-heavy. Rich and toasty with the chocolate coming through in the flavour as well. Dry, bitter finish. It's unspectacular but perfectly drinkable.

Keg @ The Colmore, Birmingham. Black body, thin beige head. Aroma of chocolate, soy. Quite flavoursome with a strong milk chocolate character and light parma violet shades. Very nice.

Bottle, courtesy of Totnes. The person, not the place. As Baytown Squire’s Connivance. Dark, cola brown. Barely a head. Nose has earthy malts. Sweet coffee. A little ashy. Taste is fairly sweet. Some roast malt bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel. Fine carbonation. Light bittersweet finish. Ok, although probably a lot better on cask.

Half-pint, keg at York Tap. Shared with Finn. Stable beige head, rich lacing, clear ruby-black body. Chocolate nose, o'boy like. Mocha chocolate flavours and mid-sweet chocolate ending. Okay, a bit unvaried. (08.02.2019).

Svart.

Tried at the Three Stags, Bebbington. Almost black beer with tan head. Big chocolate aroma. Taste the same, with a long bitterness. Rich body.

Cask at the Globe, London. Pours very dark brown with a small lasting light beige head. Aroma of chocolate, malt, dark fruit and light coffee with moderate roasting. Moderate sweetness, medium roasted bitterness. Medium body, slightly oily texture, very soft carbonation. Dry, fruity, chocolate finish. Traditional. Nice.

½ Pint Cask split by two with SinH4 @ Waterloo Tap. Happy B-Day! Black, little tanned head. Nose is cacao, chocolate, coffee, low herbal. Lovely round stupidly drinkable cacao & chocolate taste, sugar, mildly sweet, insanely drinkable. Really tasty & crazily drinkable. This is really lovely.
