From Crawford Moran, Owner/Brewer, Dogwood Brewing: "We brewed the first ’trial’ batch late one night to support the GWCB (Georgians for World Class Beer) fund raiser. Mark (Nelson) and Ted (Hull) are two guys that worked very hard to get the (GA’s) 6% cap lifted. So we dubbed it Mark and Ted’s Excellent Adventure." An experiment you may enjoy.

22oz bottle pours a mostly translucent, copper amber with two clumps of white head. Nose of toffee, orange, a little cardboard, brown sugar, caramel. Flavors of toffee apple, caramel chips, cookies, oxidized oranges. Medium bodied, sweet finish. The hops are totally gone from this 2005 bottle, but it is not bad.

A fleeting tan head that slips into a murky medium brown body. Mellow dark fruit and caramel - vanilla aroma. Complex flavor that is slightly sweet with mellowed hops. Sad that Dogwood had to fold just when it was starting to really brew some interesting beers.

Sweet. Mellowed hops, like it has been aged. Some caramel. In the line of Full Sail barleywine. A good combination of the hops and sweet malt with dark fruit.

(Hand bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of CaptainCougar. Pours a fairly cloudy, orangey golden with a small, off-white head. Typical fat Barley Wine aroma of burned caramel and overripe fruit. Quite full in body, sweetish caramel notes and a touch of nuts, wood and vanilla. Quite a distinct alcohol presence in the finish. But lovely indeed. 280907

22oz unlabeled bomber courtesy of Boboski. WOW. Thanks Jason this is good stuff.

Poured hazy orangish brown with tan head that receded to a ring in about a minute. Fruity aroma with wine grapes, dates, plums and a hint of sweet orange juice. The flavor is smooth. Just after this viscous nectar hits the tongue the medley of fruit flavors show up in force with dates, plums, slightly tart wine grapes and a hint of orange. Beyond midway a slight caramel maltiness peaks out for a quick glance and then just as quickly recedes into the thick fruity under brush. If I concentrate I can just pick up some alcohol that is providing a slight warmth to the experience.
