Bottle as Santa Paws. The colour is deep dark brown with a beige head. Sweet aroma of caramel, brown sugar, dried fruit and some diacetyl. The flavour is less sweet and more roasted with bread and grass. Little dry in the end. Has a slick mouth feel, light to medium body and bitterness. An ale with sweet aroma and malty flavour.

Bottle. As Santa Paws. Nose is earthy, hint of toffee, malt, vegetables. Taste is malty, earthy, vegetables, hint of spice. Very thin body and hard to see a xmas theme. Tips over into being a bad beer.

bottle as brewdog santa paws. clear brown, small light brown head. smooth roasted malty aroma, also choclate and coffee, bread, aroma is like a sweet chocolate cake with not much sugar. flavor is roasted malts, this sour malty note you get sometimes with very malty beers, discrete subtle hops, a very british brewn ale, but not at all tame. Sort of reminds me of guinness.

(Bottle, as "Santa Paws") Dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, spicy nose with dark chocolate, coffee, burnt sugar, honey, orange peel, roasted nuts and spices (cinnamon, nutmeg). Malty, roasted, spicy taste with coffee, black rye bread, cacao, roasted chestnuts, orange peel, nutmeg, cinnamon, caramel and a mild roasty bitterness. Below medium body, mainly dry. Tasty and spicy, the fairly low abv makes it quite drinkable. Quite nice.

Bottle, as Santa Paws, from the now closed BottleDog, Holborn, London. Pours red brown with a lasting creamy beige head. Aroma of prune, chocolate, malt, nut, liquorice, moderate roasting and light spice. Towards heavy sweetness, medium bitterness. Full bodied, oily texture, average carbonation. Finishes with increasing bitterness. Decent brew for a cold day.

Shared by Craftmember at BrewDog Brussels, under its new name Santa Paws. Moussy, lightly lacing, pale greyish head over a lightly hazy, translucently bronze-chestnut beer with coppery tinge. Aroma of filter coffee, dried redcurrant, butterscotch, pine branches, fig, nutmeg, hazelnuts. Clean 'dried' fruitiness in the mouth, hint of fig, only restrainedly sweetish with a soft sourish touch, soft carbo, minerally notes here and there while a lean, slim, smooth and bit thinnish (unsurprisingly seen the ABV) nutty and subtly caramelly maltiness develops, acquiring a mildly toasty bitterish edge towards the end; leafy, herbal, even somewhat tea-like hoppiness rises up but restrainedly so, nutty maltiness lingers afterwards. Very accessible, very easily quaffable beer (certainly to BrewDog standards), a bit on the thin and straightforward side perhaps, but certainly very well made as a kind of Scottish ale (the lower ABV part of the family) with added coffee. I'd go for something a bit more 'voluminous' on Christmas Eve, though...
