Thanks Walt for sharing the bottle! Poured into a taster showing dark brown and quickly dissipating latte colored foam. The nose shows moderately intense notes of roasted malts brightened by light lactose notes. The palate is medium bodied and fully carbonated. Mild alcoholic spice with equally strong notes of bourbon and roasted coffee malts with a strong burnt toast bitterness on the finish.

Pitch black color. No head. Oak and bourbon but fairly light. A bit light and simple body with prickly carbonation, coffee, bourbon and oak. Kinda ok, but nothing special.

Calvados barrel Aged. À deep dark stout with a thin lacing brown head. In aroma, nice bitter herbaceous chocolate with coffee grind, musty character, light dough, alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with light coffee notes, light vanilla, alcohol warmth, very nice. On tap at Lupulus.

Something off on this one for me. Roast and lots of water. Black pour without much head or lacing. Some barrel vibe. I would skip. Tap at Churchkey.

500 ml bottle share by both T.J and Brian for T.J’s # 200! Dark ruby pour with almost no head. Aroma is Apple wine, wood, light roast.
The body is medium but nearly watery and oily, viscosity is super slick, can even see it as I swirl the taster. The alcohol is slightly noticeable with a flat carbonation level. The stout base is flawed. Almost more like a strong ale or double brown. Could really use more roasted malts. Well, they all can’t be home runs ....

Poured from 500 ml bottle, my 200th rate. Black with little or no head. Aromas of sweet apples and sugar. Taste is good with hints of chocolate but is lacking in the stout character which is flat and watered down. Not what I was expecting.

Bottle with thanks to jbportland! Pours deep ruby black with a tiny brown head and some lacing. Aroma is roasty, ashes, brandy, cocoa. Flavor is light sweet, medium bitter, brandy, woody oak. A bit of harshness; no apple. Medium body.
