Draught and bottled.
Clear, bright yellow-gold body has plentiful carbonation creating a small white head that shows moderate to moderately-low retention, no doubt the barrel, spicing and cider having to do with that.
Lots of spice, both actual and yeast-derived in the nose, with various barrel notes of rum and oak. Almost an ice cider-like quality to it, with very interesting qualities from the apple, giving off lots of phenols and mustiness. Some alcohol warmth as well.
Rich, spicy and warming in the flavor, it nonetheless has a good acidity and the wood dryness helps balance as well. Black pepper, allspice and warm applesauce come to mind, carried on by a tight carbonation and comforting, soft texture. For whatever reason, I liked this one quite a bit, though I didn’t think I would.

750 ml bottle with a date of 12/8/2014. Color is Clear golden color with very thin head. Aroma is light Apple, mild cinnamon and a very mild rum but would never known it was aged in rum barrel had I not know ahead of time, shows just other spice hints.
The flavor shows mild Apple upfront with plenty of spice through the center. Cinnamon and rum like hints lingering after the sip. Could this be an example of "more is not necessarily better" for the amount of ingredients this is really weak. Mostly just Apple and spice. Where is the rum barrel???? Side note: Massachusetts State rating number 500 ..... My first state to hit 500 unique beers.

Draft at the brewery taproom. Pours clear, glowing gold with a foamy, white head. Lovely aroma with notes of nutmeg, pumpkin, autumnal spices, bread. Big sweet flavor with lightly toasted malts, some cinnamon, orange peel, light citrusy tang. Medium to full bodied with fine to avege carbonation. Lightly warming on the finish with ripe berries, more nutmeg and cinnamon, fruitcake, mild alcohol, dried berries. Nice beer.

Sampled on tap at the brewery. Pours a hazy orange with some thin, white head. Nose is nice and sweet, spicy, some candy, brandy, cane sugar, some cake. Flavor is very sweet, a flick of spice, apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, honey, cane sugar. Full, sticky finish. Wanted to love this, but I only liked it.
