1999 vintage Bottle shared at Grote Dorst. Pours clear dark golden with a small white head. Aroma is big funky, musty cellar, fruity. Flavour is really heavy acidic, maybe a little too much. Unfortunately when trying this I was feeling a little worse for ware after a massive beer tasting in Brussels the night before. After enjoying a small amount this fine vintage whale, said whale proceeded to violently exit my body in a blend of old lambic and stomach acid. On the bright side, I got to enjoy it twice!

bottle pours orange/yellow almost no foam at all soft, yet very sour . some fruityness. turns extremely sour in the back . one glass ( 20 cl ) was ’hard’ (yet pleasant ) to finish . probably the most sour thing i ever drank, hanssens experimental raspberry included ( ! )

1999 Vintage. 750mL bottle at DHVL, pours a cloudy night orange with a small off-white head. Aroma of tart dry apricot skins, and classic barnyard funk -- wonderful aromatics. Flavour brings out tart apricots, some grape skins, and medium funk. Moderate funky quality for a gueuze with a very higher than average acidity. Finishes fairly tart, with the funky quality no less pronounced and huge acidity. No sign of the age at 14 years old. Wonderful stuff, though not my favourite style of gueuze with all the sourness and intense acidity. Actually becomes overburdeningly acidic the more you drink, forcing me to lower the rating a bit. Still, quality stuff.

Enjoyed this at the Weekend of Spontaneous Fermentation. Vintage: 1993. Paid 20 Euro for the bottle and split with 4 friends. Served in a Gueuze glass at room temperature.
A - Zero carbonation / hiss on the cork pop. Dark orange appearance and minor cloudiness. SRM of 14.
S - Very little nose left. Mild acidic scent. Big vinegar scent as well.
T - Grapefruit, lemon, limes and apples. Peaches as well. It’s a whole rainbow of fruits. Still a big sour bomb and some dry grape skins taste as well.
M - Still a decent carbonation in the mouth. 15% on the mouth swish. Insanely dry finish and the tast runs away very quickly leaving this gigantic sour bomb.
O - Even still, it’s a rocking great Gueuze and one I’d love to have again.

750ml bottle thanks so much to Ayrton! 1999 vintage. This was a major want that I should have had a few years ago in Belgium. Bright orange color, pretty hazy with a small bubble of head. A rich nose of apricot and wood, some lemon. A very nice Gueuze: light tartness, very smooth apricots, oranges and lemon, vanilla, wood. Very smooth and tasty. Dusty. Has lost a good bit of carbonation I think. Awesome nevertheless.
